  1. Can't win when you can't score any runs...
  2. FYI, Lopez has given up 5 runs in his 6 and one third innings since returning from his mental health break.
  3. I must say, I don't think I've ever seen a pitcher load the bases by hitting all 3 batters!
  4. Putting in Jax there was fine, but I agree with the rest saying that pulling Julien was a bad move. And it's not like Julien is slow, his sprint speed is not shabby. That spot is likely to come up again.
  5. Nice to see Maeda having a quality rebound start so far. Perhaps we can see the rest of the rotation rebound from their All-Star Week hangover, or whatever it was.
  6. Correct, I forgot about him, I thought the other two players traded were international teenagers. Davis has 95 PAs between 2019-2021 coming in at .203 / .573 OPS. I do remember some being upset that he wasn't promoted after demolishing AAA. Looks like he's at the Mets AAA affiliate with a middling triple slash line with a pretty high strikeout rate.
  7. Well, at least Kepler's power is back after he hit just 9 HRs last year. He's become far more tolerable than Gallo lately.
  8. The Mariners are calling up Berroa of the Sam Dyson trade for the first time, potentially to play against the team that he started with.
  9. Berroa is the first - and probably only - prospect from the Sam Dyson trade to reach the majors. He was traded to the Mariners last year for Donovan Walton.
  10. If the Twins are serious about being a true contender, I believe the bare minimum would be to acquire a 3B, RH OF, and a reliever.
  11. I believe that Julien was their top replacement for Arraez when they traded him - both were great hitters in the minors who didn't have a home defensively. Julien has a long ways to go to match Luis, but is at least already a MLB caliber hitter, as compared to what we have behind Pablo Lopez (the drop-off from Arraez to Julien compared to Lopez to Varland/AAAA filler is justifying the trade right now).
  12. What a season so far from Julien - he is making losing Arraez not hurt quite as much.
  13. Is our whole rotation having a post-All Star break hangover or something?!
  14. We have to get Buxton and Kepler out of the lineup, at least in the short term. They're costing us too much with their ineptitude. Even if Wallner strikes out a whole ton, at least it's someone else doing it. Julien needs to be the every day DH with how he's hitting, and get Buxton on an IL/mental health break.
  15. Short starters are a pretty typical thing in the playoffs, as managers usually pull their starters at the first sign of trouble in the 5th/6th innings. Gray is by far the best rental piece out there, not counting Ohtani.
  16. They should listen to all offers on Gray, but they should see if anyone tries to blow them out of the water. If not, hold on to him... but if they anticipate Gray will not be a Twin in 2024, then I think it'd be prudent to get something for him instead of only getting the extra draft pick from the QO. Of course, with the team in contention and the front office needing to prevent a third losing season in a row I don't anticipate they will seriously consider moving him.
  17. Well, they did it last year when Royce Lewis was tearing it up in a two week stint and still sent him down when Correa was ready to go, despite our lineup badly needing him. Hopefully they have learned from that mistake.
  18. The Reds have a lot of youth in their lineup and have another hot rookie coming up. Let's see how well CES converts his AAA dominance to the majors.
  19. Four runs to win 4-3, presumably?
  20. Great day by the hitters, but you have to be concerned with Maeda and Lopez's starts against this A's offense. Meanwhile, the bullpen has been quite solid even down several arms, barring that bad game against the Orioles.
  21. Absolutely not - OPS is not a perfect stat and it doesn't properly encapsulate Arraez's value and Gallo's problems. It doesn't account for run creation, and too harshly penalizes hitters who hit plenty of singles. Case in point - Ichiro Suzuki has a career .757 OPS, even just including his prime years it's about .800 OPS. Old friend Kennys Vargas, a similar power-only / K heavy profile to Gallo has a career .748 OPS, and even a .788 OPS in his last two years in the MLB. One dimensional power hitters are given too much value from it, while OBP machines who take tons of singles and walks like Suzuki and Arraez get penalized for that.
  22. It's truly incredible how un-clutch Correa is. Your MLB GBDP leader!
  23. We have a lot of injuries this year too, it just feels like the whole 'they need to shake things up' ideas were brought up but we kept seeing the same thing every week, Rocco kept using Pagan in short leverage situations, the starters didn't get much rope (not my complain but it felt like most here thought that). They did make changes at the trade deadline, so that's the earliest I expect any changes to be made.
  24. Gameday initially said it was Gallo, but now it says Rudy Hernandez was. I'm just following on gameday, so I retract what I said about Gallo.
  25. They did get Gallo out of the starting lineup... This is the same recipe we've seen the past two (losing) seasons. Keeping the status quo is the FO's highest priority.
