  1. I liked that winder throws strikes, in fact all our young pitchers fill the strike zone. By doing so it gets hitters in swing mode. I really liked Larnach double: back door breaking ball on the outside corner and he crushed the other way.
  2. Ryan first for sure. I might have snuck Duran in there. His numbers are not as good but he has dominated at times.
  3. At this point he is what he is. Why are people surprised when he goes through a prolonged slump? Soon enough he is going to hit 5 homers in 5 games and people will write articles that he has finally figured it out. Then he will slump again. My guess is it’s his last season as a Twin.
  4. One other thing……Duran is looking better every time he goes out there. He was so efficient I was hoping they would give him a third inning. What a weapon to have in the pen. Now we just need two more like him….
  5. Fun game. I hope Archer can regain his command. The stuff is there but he isn’t throwing enough strikes. It’s going to catch up to him.
  6. I wish Smeltzer the best as I think he can help the Twins. That said I couldn’t care less about his opinions on the pitch clock. The game is for the fans and anything that speeds up the game and creates more action is critical to the future of the game.
  7. Vallimont can’t throw it over the plate. Never has. I would move him off the 40 man and not give it a second thought.
  8. Let’s not be naïve. He’s gone after this year unless things go horribly wrong. And there is nothing wrong with that. The Twins can’t and shouldn’t hand out a mega contract to him.
  9. My criteria would be they have to be pitching well right now and be able to throw strikes. That narrows the list considerably. Smeltzer might be the best choice as our current lefties don’t inspire confidence.
  10. This. If he wouldn’t have signed such a team friendly deal I’m convinced he would be gone. I hope he he hits his incentives and gets LOTS of the Pohlads money.
  11. I don’t care. He has to be healthy and just be Byron Buxton. The rest will take care of itself.
  12. Can’t wait for the pitch clock. Never wanted but it’s the only way the game is going to move along.
  13. The end was a good old fashioned Legion ball snowball fight. Credit Jeffers with some key blocks. They were all pretty much right at him but it is not usually a strength for him. Any of those get by him and it’s a different game.
  14. It’s not hard to figure out why this lineup is not producing. Half the spots are black holes and I have no expectation that Sano Kepler Sanchez or Jeffers will substantially improve. Larnach has hit some balls hard and is still gaining experience so he might produce. I’m really worried about Jeffers - he’s getting worse.
  15. I like Dick and I like him more now that he is not with Bert. He isn’t afraid to say nothing which is such a blessing in this day and age of talking heads. I like Smalley. He knows the game, makes his point and then shuts up.
  16. Wry good to see SWR and Lewis doing well. Two very important prospects for the Twins.
  17. Pagan is not an elite reliever but that wasn’t the expectation. I couldn’t care less about zips projections especially for relievers. So far he has been better than just about the entirety of our bullpen.
  18. You can’t start every season saying we’ll figure out the bullpen over time. Games in April and may count. People point out that the bullpen was good last year in the second half. Who cares? They were out of it by then. SSS but my fear is that things are looking eerily similar to the beginning of last year.
  19. I really like how all our starters are attacking the zone. Few walks and pretty economical with their pitches. Had Larnach made even a decent throw they would have had Bogearts at third and Bundy likely goes out for the 7th.
  20. 4 hits 10 strikeouts again. Glad to to see Ober filling up the strike zone. What was Sanos error like?
  21. Can we stop with the cold weather excuses? Both teams are playing in the same weather and the games count just as much as when the sun is shining.
  22. I don’t get it. The Twins got shutout with 10 strikeouts and yet this recap would indicate some level of success. Not accurate reporting.
  23. Yea Rod specifically mentioned they recommend that he have a little more knee bend in his stance in order to keep his head from moving down during the swing. He won’t do it. To me this is typical of Sano and the real reason to be worried. He’s done this how many times yet we don’t change anything.
  24. He’s the anti Sano. Everybody loves him because he is the scrappy little guy. He’s also the guy that has no power no speed and is not a good fielder. Highest and best use is as a trade chip.
  25. Just pray for good health. All this velocity is great but pitchers have been dropping like flies as they ramp up the velocity.
