    Owners appoint a commissioner,,, in the beginning it used to be a president for both leagues , then after the black Sox scandal I believe they were ousted and the commissioner office was formed for the integrity of the game .. Todays commissioner works exclusively for the owners .. Selig was more subtle but Manfred has not ,,, Vincent was the last commissioner that was neutral for the office of commissioner , , He should stay neutral between the owners and players and hash out an agreement for everyone's benefit .... If the commissioner was more neutral we might not have had such a problem with steroids , but the steroid era was exciting and the commissioner knew what was going on but didn't put a stop to it soon enough because it generated fans interest and lots of revenue for the owners , so the steriods era puts a tarnish on records that were broken .... IMO .... Hank Aaron is still the leader in homeruns ,,,, no I won't get over it

    Just another player with a pulse ,,, whoopie Twins had burrows on the roster of 2021 , another 1st rounder drafted by detroit that is gone off the twins roster and signed a minor league contract with Dodgers for 2022 , another player that was suppose to have potential but was just another player with a pulse....

    Remember manfreds letter to the fans ... We owe it to the fans to get a quick resolution to the new agreement ... What a crock ..... Does he think that baseball fans are stupid ... he writes a letter to the fans and then eats his words ... We need a more neutral commissioner that doesn't work directly for the owners ... Manfred has no passion for todays game or even the history of the game ... That's proven with all his stupid new baseball rules to speed up the game , rules that take away strategy during the game ... IMO it doesn't speed the game up enough to change rules , now adding DH to national league will add time to those games ... What a crock ... Let's play two

    Pepe ,, loved that game he played all nine positions... Loved that game in early 1969 where tovar and carew ran wild stealing bases and both stealing home in same inning , both of them steal home , 5 stole base in same inning combined against lefthander lolich and catcher freehan ,,, different game back then , let the boys of summer run .. Made game very interesting , No strategy in roccos game suck ,,, I would vote Rocco into the hall of shame ... tovar ( pepe ) was fun to watch and sure was a hero of many young and old twins fans so yes he needs a twins Hall of fame

    Thanks Seth,,, that good news that diaz has been moved out of third base coach, I didn't think he was all that good at sending the fast runners to score when we had problems scoring runs ,, he sent alot of slow runners to their death at the plate though ......

    The lockout has only been alittle more than a week ! To me it feels alot longer as our owner and front office made no significant moves to improve the team before the lockout except for re-signing buxton to extention ( 1 player can't win it all ) ... Where is their pitching savvy approach ????? ... Still at the bottom of the dumpster I guess !

    I like rortvedts defende the best of the 3 catchers , he blocks the ball better than garver and jeffers and has a better arm for throwing out base stealers ,,, Hope he can hit a league average and stay ,,, It's a strength we can trade from and teams covet catchers , I'm sure teams have contacted the twins on catchers rortvedt because of his defense and garver because he can hit , jeffers needs more to put it all together and 2022 should be the telling year for jeffers ... like the depth of catchers in the minors , there is t!lent there

    Falvy says there is some potential to tap into ,,, I seriously question that remark to his evaluation if players , Going forward after the CBS is agreed upon ,,, the Next free agent signings will be Matthew Boyd,, they were also interested in him a few years ago ..... None move the needle to win post season games .... You heard it here first sports fans

    What are favorite moments of the players ?????? Kitty pitching and hitting a homerun in eighth inning and pitching the ninth inning for a complete game to win it ,,,he won it with his arm and bat that day ,,,, it was awesome and never forgot it ... Tony was a hero of my youth and I became a switch hitter because of him .... he was a producer in every aspects of the game , a clutch hitter and a very good defensive right fielder ... every moment he played the game was a favorite of mine ,,, his last hit of his career I was there at the met ,,,, IT'S ABOUT TIME FOR BOTH OF THEM TO BE IN COOPERSTOWN and I will most likely be there

    What's money if you can't enjoy it ,,, Pohlad keeps looking at his net worth in his bank account , What a boring life ... what has he accomplished in his lifetime except the accumulation of the almighty dollar ,,, Spend on top quality players and be happy to bring a world series winner to minnesota fans as one of your accomplishments in life regardless of over spending .. Can't take it with you and besides it was almost all free money from your inheritance from your father's estate , Spend and have a good time

    Great to watch and he got some long homeruns .... I only seen one pitch and if those were mistake pitches he definitely punished the ball ... he won't get alot of those mistake pitches in mlb ,,, I liked his swing when he went to the opposite field with the homeruns , he does hit the pitch well were ever it is pitched ....

    I agree that the umpiring has been worse since they abandoned the AL umpires and NL umpires and grouped them into one union ,,, If the umpires would stand directly over the catcher they would probably call a better game behind the plate, also they should have their eyes checked everyday .... the calls on the bases are poor too ... Remember the no hitter that wasn't when Joyce( firstbase umpire ) called the guy safe and he was out by 2 steps ...

    Manfred and owners are a detriment to the game of baseball , they are losing the loyal fan base .... I am on the players side and I hope they can bring back the strategy of baseball and get rid of manfreds stupid new rules of the game that don't speed up the game .... They are going to add the DH to the national league , is that going to speed up the national league games , I don't think so ... I like pitchers hitting and some pitchers are good hitters ,, the cost of doing business will go up with the owners adding the DH and the games will be longer .. I don't mind the DH but it's really against what Manfred and the owners have been trying to accomplish by changing the rules .. They are the ones ruining the game .. Sign buck for the bucks pohlad

    I'm sorry I wouldn't pay any of your mentioned pitchers that high of a salary ,, did kluber earn a raise from 11 million with 16 starts ( 1 a no hitter ) and the rest back on injured list ... Can't pay woods or knebel for a reliever with injury concerns... Stroman the twins FO could surprise us at 110 million and he would replace berrios but not with the strikeouts .... Trades are the main focus for pitching and a surplus of position players to trade ... Gray I would like over stroman in the free agency

    Good write up , I'm on board and have been with a philosophy of better pitching for years , Quality Pitching, pitching and more pitching , starters and relief ..... Sign Buxton.... Priorities for this off season as written above ,,, Options for ss within our organization are reasonable .. But if they could sign Iglesias or Galvin for 3 million who are better hitters than Simmons I don't think that would break the bank .... Simmons defense would also be worth 3 million but no more , he would have to earn a raise for 2023 with better hitting and I think he could be in position for a rebound season with the bat ..... AGAIN FOR PRIORITIES ... sign Buxton to an extension or lose the diehard twins fanbase ... Sign quality pitching that can go 6 innings or more and sign quality shutdown relief pitchers , and sign that quality pitching to extended contracts to open our window of contention up , our below average pitching that they have signed in years past have proven we will never win a playoff games ,,, Last pitcher to win a twins playoff game was an ace , cy young winner named Santana

    I agree with vanimal that the twins haven't spent on pitching in past years but we could be in for a surprise ,, if the twins do spend on pitching maybe pohlad does care and wants a winning team .... if they don't spend on pitching all he cares about is pocketing the profits ... Pitching wins and most teams in post season play have alot better rotations and bullpens than the twins , twins pitching has lost 18 post season for a reason ,,, most are just average ( berrios above average and Santana last to win a post season game an ace ) ... I won't comment on the pitching side of the roster ... But the regular roster is fine that needs some tweaks from the FO and manager ... First the manager tweaks ,,, bat Buxton and arreaz followed by Polanco and leave them there all season , garver and Donaldson ,,, the rest just get a decent hitting coach and teach them some situational hitting ( it is pathetic that they can't change their approach when runners are in scoring position with no outs ) .. The rest are the players that finished the season on the 2021 roster ... I have no idea who will temain or be traded but larnach will start in the minors... There also will be a few additions, who ? A possible shortstop and an outfielder .. Twins front office really messed up the season by thinking they had a replacement in left field , that was a start to misery , second , they let a good utility player go and didn't replace him and had so many of the remaining players playing out of positions ... Third , let's not even talk about pitching ... Fourth , I just hope they have a plan this year and learned about themselves ,,, I did not see a plan at all with management and manage this past season .. The last 2 months did show optimism for next year

    We definitely need new ownership ,,, pohlads have no love for baseball , pohlads have love for money .. When taking over Falvy / levine fired all personal to restructure franchise and hired all top professionals to fill positions ( their words not mine ) ... I would grade it a total system failure on the major league product ....

    Todays responses to this post are mostly right on and the fans are calling for aces , studs and bulldogs ( quality pitching ) to win post season games , not just contend during the regular season ... Ownership has instructed FO to put together a roster to win games during the season and to draw fan's to fill the stadium ( didn't happen this year for obvious reason ) ... low budget owner that thinks anyone with a pulse can play the game of baseball .. Ownership and front office appears to never look at winter acquisitions in building a playoff caliber team , just an average team to beat our own division teams , we can't beat the strongest division in the east ,,, ( gee I wonder why ) .. We are the twins fans that our owners and FO should be listening to because of love of the game ,, we live for baseball and they cater to younger partying types to buy tickets who just watch the scoreboards and not the product on the field ... They could learn alot from us dummies ,, and i concur that ownership and FO have not taken responsibility to what I think in my opinion is the worst season the twins have ever played , but still follow everyday.. even the year we lost over a 100 games was better , because we were in every game but lost alot of close competitive games , got more hits , doubles , singles and walks strung together to score runs in the clutch .. Good write up and responses twins fans , Go twins

    What viola is saying is everyone below falvy is puppets ,,,, Falvy is manager and everyone below him has to follow and listen to what he says .... We also need an owner that has passion ,,, he doesn't seem to love baseball as much as Eloise and Carl ,,, Yes they are spending more money since they opened target field but not on the right personal to win playoff games just enough talent to win divisions especially in the pitching department ,, way below average pitching will never win playoff games against the better teams ... Take some responsibility in this failure and learn from it and add what the fans want , studs , bulldogs and aces to succeed, I just can't believe they didn't call up Ryan, but called up gibaut instead ,, Service time , who cares , they will trade them away after 5 years because they won't pay them ....

    I agree with Bighat ... I constantly see our manager out managed by the opposing manager , after the allstar game , first game post interview before second game of doubleheader was , our players are a bit rusty , i heard that and immediately thought , I guess we're going to lose the second game of doubleheader too ..... then we got swept it's the managers job to get them ready to play, almost seems like our manager doesn't play to win

    Thabks Cody, I hope you have a storyline option after the season is concluded ,,, I will be watching the front office very carefully on the trade deadline , They have not really impressed me with trades yet .. Always like to see rookies perform and hopefully perform well ... Spoilers would be nice , but probably to much to ask for as Rocco always gets out managed by the opposition ...

    We are talking trades or expiring contracts at the end of the year .... Rocco's contract expires I believe at the end of 2021 , If another team came calling for the 2019 manager if the year , I sell him for a dollar like the twins did with Jim eisenreich back in the 90's ... With better managing and coaching the twins could be alot better in 2022 ...... Everyone thought tony larussa was to old to make a comeback and he has Chicago in first place
