  1. All good questions , I don't think they would use him back to back days because of the lack of innings pitched since 2019 .... 2 inning saves would be alright if they don't use him back to back ..... If he holds out with no injury as the closer , and produces quality results , the front office would be smart to stick with him as closer .... Bullpens are what wins most games ( yes there are some stud starters ) and Duran solidifies almost a qauranteed victory in the ninth inning .... I know I'm getting ahead of myself a bit but that was a very impressive save last night ,,, best in many years as a twin
  2. Game ball goes to Correa's defense , some exceptional plays made ... and to Duran closing it out 1 , 2 , 3 , in a pressure situation ,,,, this is who we need to be competitive ,, we have never had a closer with this kind of stuff .... Graturol might have been but got traded
  3. They used Duran in the closer role in 2 to 1 victory over Baltimore ... Outstanding 1 , 2 , 3 inning , no edge of your seat performance , he was poised and looked like he was relishing in that role .... He's got the right stuff for closer ... I guess someone in front office might read twins daily
  4. I'll get the ball rolling ... Royce Lewis certainly would be my choice but he needs to establish his game before a promotion ... I wish they would play him in the outfield like he did in the AZL league which he won mvp of the fall league in 2019 .... He's athletic enough and might find an earlier opening in the outfield if Correa stsys
  5. We are still out here ,,, What really bothers me about them is they don't connect with the fans and tell us the plan ,,,, In interviews they stray from answering the questions honestly and last season during the worst season of twins baseball they could hardly be seen giving interviews during the first half , but in the second half they were back in front of the cameras Be Essing their way through the season when twins were playing better ball .... Just wanted to let you know that we are still here and give my thoughts and not an argument
  6. Remember the last pitcher that threw over 100 in 2019 as a reliever , the FO traded for a starting pitcher the next off season .... Sure hope they aren't show casings him and follow a pattern this off season and trade him cause he has been fun to watch in the bullpen and should be given the opportunity to close ... Rookie or not , closer role is his to lose and I don't think we would be sitting on the edge our seats as he closes , unlike with the other options we have ..... Alot of clubs like hard throwers and have given many rookies a closer role and found success .... We need to take a chance if we are competitors FO .... I don't need to name any of the players written above , you should all know who I am talking about , Now only if the FO and manager would read twins daily
  7. Are these the real twins or is it a mirage ,,, outstanding series against Tampa all a round , defense and offense ,,, winder 6 innings all only 2 hits ,,,, great job prospect
  8. If the FO office and coaches have found and tweaked his mechanics to better him , it's all great but it's to small of a sample size to know what kind of a pitcher he really is going to be ,,, rookie year was good , next 2 seasons not so good ...
  9. I'm not ready to cut sano any slack , He has no concentration in the game , takes 3 pitches for strikes without swinging , oh my , he can't identify the pitches , maybe .... Baserunning there was no need for sano to run to second because his run didn't matter, what mattered was the 2 runners ahead of him scoring the tying and winning run , Not sure why larnach held at third but ursela should have easily been on third if larnach came to score the tying run on sano error / hit .... The twins do need to practice Baserunning and keep there minds on the game and ball ... Just the facts ,
  10. I definitely concur with this , Todays businesses never give you your money's worth ....
  11. IRyan looks like he is headed for the all star game ,,,, like watching him , fast pace and good results ..... Remember sports fan you heard it here first , Joe Ryan to the all star game
  12. I like your optimism that sano outlook is sky high ,,, With few comments already posted you are the minority for cutting sano any slack ... Sano is completely lost as a batter , base runner and a fielder ... not to mention confidence .... His concentration on the game sucks ,,, plain and simple .... When they get paid the kind of money they do there is no cutting them any slack because they are suppose to be professionals that are playing a kids game .... Baseball is hard , round ball hit by a round bat , but the rules of the game are simple , execute , execute and execute , adjustments , adjustments and adjustments
  13. They key for the twins would be to hit the left handed starters and Pineda ( Mr consistance ) start against the twins is going to be interesting .... hit hit hit , score score score that's the key ..... our starting pitching needs to keep pitching like they have been doing and keep us in the game Detroits key is to keep Buxton and arreaz off the bases and not allow Correa to start a hot streak
  14. I'm glad you pretty. Much stuck with naming mostly our prospects . Please stay away from the dumpster diving of the past ,,,, We have pitching prospects it'd be nice to use them from AA to AAA .... shouldn't take this long to coach the college players to the major leagues ... Oh that's right , FO hired all the top professionals in the industry to make us winners
  15. Heroics ... Buxtons walk off homer to sweep the series with white Sox was amazing and a team momentum changer ..... Personally with 1 out and runners on 2nd and 3rd and Buxton batting with a open 1st base ,,, larussa should have walked Buxton because his run didn't matter and it set up a force out or possible double play .... Larussa got beat by Buxton , plain and simple .... Buxton and arreaz at top of order for the rest of the season ,, they get things going , Loved that game on Saturday when you couldn't keep those two off the bases ... reminded me o tovar and carew days..... All the credit for Sundays walk off win goes to Buxton ,,, NOT OUR MANAGER
  16. It was a sloppy game but yes well take the W .. Chicago has 16 errors in 14 games ,,,,
  17. We have the reinforcements prospects but they don't bring them up when we really need them and give them the opportunity , our front office quoted when they cleaned house and fired everyone in the system ( we have hired all top professionals at every position to turn this franchise into a winner ) , I keep waiting for those words to come to fruitation . They keep digging into their depth of dumpster divers ... we want to see our talent ( FO draftees ) at the major league level not somebody else's rejects ... The manager may be a players manager but he simply does not take that talent and develop him into a better talent ... Baseball is baseball , hit , run and catch
  18. Only time will tell .... Right now he looks good in the bullpen , If the manager and FO would give the pitchers a definite roll or title a pitcher might have better success and try harder to move up to a better title ...
  19. The FO and Rocco follow a plan , Plain and simple and won't deviate from it ,,, they are not the wiz kids plain and simple ... I knew the lead was going to change with duffey coming in and would allow at least 1 homer , how many homers has duffey allowed already this season ,,, his command and velocity is down and they stick to there plan with one of the worst arm in the BP right now , They won't deviate from the plan , plain and simple .... It was a winnable game and the plan failed again , Plain and simple
  20. That's a good wrap of the game Jamie ... Now we need to find another 3rd base coach who will send the fast runners and hold the slow runners .. Also relegate duffy to mop up duty , his stuff sucks
  21. Like doctor gast said basic hitting is needed ,, Where do we stack up with doubles ,,, consecutive doubles scores a run and leaves a runner in scoring position for a batter to hit a single and have a rbi .... Scoring runs matters as much as winning games ,, we need base runners to score a 100 runs or more ,,, We also need more clutch hitting in the homers with men on base ,,, they can be a game changer , if the player has the mentality for pressure situations Solo homers are not game changers .... Batting Averages , runs scored and RBI's still matter to me .... also small ball mixed in with today's metrics ...
  22. Larnach needs to build confidence at the major league level ,, Let him bat against righthanded pitching to build that confidence up first then unleash him to both sides of the plate ... It's a plan that should work and the FO and Rocco like game plans ...
  23. I'll add ,,, about our bullpen is they have surrendered 18 runs in the 8th inning in 10 games ... We fixed nothing from last year with the bullpen to really strengthen it , The New faces is just a mirage
  24. I disagree with this take ,,, The twins could do alot more to create interest in their team in drawing fans .. Educate the tots to a Harmon killebrew day , a rod carew day , Tony Oliva day , Puckett day , Blyleven day , a kaat day .... our hof honorees The kids would get the to know the legends on the history of twins players and the dads and grandfather's would love it too ...
