Im sorry This is not the year to trade prospects and go for it , they haven't a chance in the playoffs if they make it , 2022 deadline wasn't the year to go for it but they did and what a blunder of trades they made , 2023 deadline was the time to go for it and they didn't , we made the playoffs and took 1 series ... Jeffers ( caratini , jackson), larnach ( Gonzales , roden ) and gray ( who cares ) can be traded and we can continue to play good exciting baseball and get some help for the bullpen ... Things are looking better for 2027 if there are games played , off season should be active for the twins ... Again sorry fans , this is not the year to cash in our chips and go for it just to say we made the playoffs , if the twins finish 500 that should be sucessful enough for everyone to be more excited for the next season , considering how bad they they were in 2024-25 ...

Glad to have our twins back playing baseball ... Taking one game from the cubbies a contender in Wrigleyville was all I was expecting , but the last two games of the series WOW-ZER ... Saturday's ninth inning blunders still digs deep , a rally brewing and snuffed out by bad base running ... Now today's game was just awful , you can't give the opponent's extra outs , extra bases and runs , as most will agree the twins need to play flawless baseball to win , this should be emphasized ... I have enjoyed watching this team this year but this loss it seemed everyone contributed to it , WOW-ZER ... No double digit hits from from the line up , Matthew's game ( listened on radio ) , couldn't put them away ... Good news of the week in reviewing our #1 draft choice signed , get him to high A and see if he's as good as projections, fast track him to the majors by 2028 ...

I stated a few days ago in another article before games resumed that the twins would win 1 game against cubbies , if we don't win 3 in Cleveland we are sunk ... Today is a bad game , see you during a Cleveland series , I'm out of here , can't give these opponents extra outs , runs and bases ...

It's the fans that always want to think big ... But Matthew you answered your own question , they will avoid it ... If we were a serious contender and needed just a couple of players to tweak the roster for the whole kit and kaboodle, then yes go big ...

Sam , the twins are playing better exciting baseball since , it's been quite awhile since the second half of 2023 into the playoffs that they played exciting baseball , they may not be buried in the standings but they just are not a consistent winning team , a 500 team that might sneak into the post season and get lucky but most likely in the post season they will be crushed by a contending team ( contending is the key word , the twins are not ) ... The twins have improved on offense , the starting pitching is good but not the strength it once was ,the bullpen has nothing to offer , the team lacks some defense and fundamental issues ... Can we make trades , sure we can ... Twins have proven they can play without jeffers , what jeffers will bring back will probably be just prospects that won't help the team immediately , they should trade for immediate help to strengthen the holes in the team ... Larnach is having a good year at the plate , his defense was better at one point this season but lately it has been alittle like his old self , holding back and letting to many catchable balls drop in front of him , larnach is expendable to allow a Gonzales or roden to show us what their future may bring ... We are a competitive 500 team at the this time , if the twins could be savvy enough and get some quality major league bullpen arms in trades of jeffers and larnach it definitely could change the outcome , we have a surplus of outfielders and left handed bats , find a righthanded bat that can hit lefties well , why we struggle against lefties is anyone's guess , our pitching depth could use a boost but please no dumpster , AAAA pitchers ... I've enjoyed the games this year ... Yesterday's ninth inning fiasco I did not ...

I think we have more dreams about the team than the team has made trades for starters ...

Sam , I concur the twins are hot and cold , inconsistencies through the season , even the fans have inconsistencies , highs when winning , lows when losing , we need a balanced harmony for this team ... Going against the cubbies who are contenders is crucial and will give the twins the most problems , we have to win 1 game for sure in wrigleyville or were sunk , Cleveland is ahead of us but in a weak division , I don't see them as contenders , they are missing their star third baseman , twins must win 3 against them or we are sunk ... I still see us as sellers until the team proves me wrong , as I've mentioned in other articles jeffers and larnach are expendable and replaceable , twins could still play hot and cold even if we kept them past the deadline ... The team has played exciting baseball and it would be exciting if we could get a playoff berth but in the playoffs we are not a contender , the FO would really have to buy / add something significant to turn this team into a real contenders at the deadline .. The boys have got to come out of the break hungry, develop a killer instinct , I'll be rooting them on and hopefully we can get 10 game winning streak or more going ...

Thanks for the outstanding article , as they say , the draft is a crap shoot , some will get a career and some might get a cup of coffee ... I guess all the lefthanders were either small and couldn't throw mid nineties , or all the ones that could were taken already ... Not head over heels on this years draft , Lackey yes , high school pitcher yes but will be difficult to sign him , renfro throws strikes ... lots of work ahead for the other draftees and coaches to make it a worthy draft ..
