  1. It' feels like it's over before it even gets started ... Unbelievable , the organization only has bad luck and let's hope Ryan is near ready to start the season in early April ...
  2. I knew it was a Cody article before I clicked on , I hate being right all the time ... There was no reason to read it because I agree with you that our playoff chance were nil to begin with ...
  3. Let's hope they have learned some lessons on getting this organization back from being one of the most poorly run teams in baseball ... I want to see smart moves , not the head scratchers falvey Always did ... So far the changes haven't really changed my mind , still wading through the shallow end of the pool of players ... Be wise grasshopper , money doesn't grow on trees , but poor spending like falvey did , ( they should of just burned the money ) ... So far we have matched last year's acquisitions , bell , caratini and banda verses last year's France, Bader and Colombe ... From what Tom has said , the spending will be done when the team can prove it can win , we'll that isnt going to make the twins winners over night ... I just hope we aren't a further embarrassment to the league , are we any better than last year , let's play the game and have an article after 40 games , that should tell us what kind of team we will have ...
  4. DO YOU BELIEVE , YES I BELIEVE WE HAVE BEEN SCHMOOZED .... But the games must be played , let's hope some of the additions will help the team and the changes will help the organization ...
  5. Shelton will be good for the team , emphasize all the traditional ways to play good baseball , Shelton will be better for the players to ... As 1 poster already said ,I like him more than Rocco already , can Shelton get these players to play a more competent , more exciting game , the only answer is , he has nowhere to go but UP ...
  6. Uncertainty ... Definitely a problem ... Will the starting rotation carry the team to a 500 record , Will the defense improve enough to help our pitchers sustain ... Will our offense improve enough to score 4 or more runs a game and give our pitchers support , definitely do need players to have a better approach on hitting ( will some succeed , stay the same or just keep on regressing ) trotting out practically the same lineup every year hasn't been beneficial ... Will the offense ever find the mental approach to be clutch hitters with no outs and runners in scoring position ... Will our Baserunning blunders improve or stay the same ... will the adjustments come , will players that are struggling keep getting playing time ... middling expectations .. I have no high expectations or middle expectations , just low expection ... Will be pleasantly surprised if the twins are a 500 ball team at seasons end or for that matter finish above the White Sox in the standings ... If they can play quality baseball that is exciting , win or lose that will be enough for me ...
  7. Hard to believe a pitcher like banda falls into our lap ... This acquisition moves the needle some , it was a no brainer to get him for the bullpen at a affordable price and just might be bullpen pitcher of the year ...
  8. Pitchers and catchers report ... it's a good thing that true fans love the sport ... So for now let the players play in spring training and cut them some slack ... I'm happy baseball is back ... The articles all off season were uninspiring ... Most of the fans were thinking about retiring ... The fans are back with some optomizum ... But half way through the season there is going to be alot of pessimism ... Happy to have baseball back ...
  9. Conner Prielipp is the one to watch in spring training , can he put his injuries behind him is the question ... Raya has been hyped all along since drafted but has had kid gloves on since drafted , that's on our development personal , he didn't show anything in AAA but has convinced our management that he's now qualified for a bullpen position ... Ober can be his old self if the injury was his problem last year , spring training we will know ... All eyes are on the players in spring training , time is now to impress ...
  10. Off season grading is easy , every year it's an F ... No creativity , no strategy and a strange plan , pitching is a strength but the rest of the roster is a mess with no moves to solve the holes , keep trotting out the same players year after year in hope that they will be more competitive ... We are starting a new season with a new manager and some changes in coaching , it's a fresh start , spring training right around the corner the players will need to impress to make the roster , only the best need to make the roster , those ( AAAA )with no options shouldn't be given a roster spot with any worties of losing them on waivers ...
  11. The starting pitching is a strength but spring training is for determining who will fill out the back end of the rotation and who will end up in the bullpen and who will be in AAA to start the season ...
  12. No shortstop , no bullpen as of now , no defense and no lineup , just a bunch of bull - s**t , rotation a strength but has questions unanswered ..
  13. There is no reason to ever have another conversation as the twins with the highest payroll in the American league central ... Detroit is over the 244 million threshold , they just signed Verlander and last week Valdez , will they win the central , they are definitely favored too but still have to play the games ... For years the twins had a payroll higher than all central teams and could barely win a central division ...
  14. Urshela bilingual so maybe he can understand what Tom P has been saying because i sure can't follow it ...
  15. It's a sad state of affairs in twinkieville , when's it ever going to change ... I think ( bean ) stated the owners don't know how to connect to the right kind fans , they also don't know how to promote the identity of the twins ( past or present ) ... Have a Harmon Killebrew day , a Rod Carew day , Tony O day , kaat day , a Kirby Puckett day , Blyleven day and last Mauer day ... These players should be honored once a year , they are hall of famers that had great careers and grandfather's and dads can educate to their sons what great players the twins had .. They should have 3 world series days every year ( bring in some of the former players and let the fans mingle with them on the field a couple of hours before or after the game every year ) for 1965 participants ( there are still a few with us ) and 1987 winners and 1991 world series ...
  16. It's also depressing that we continue to draft shortstops in the draft and we haven't found one to stick at that position in 9 years of falvey ... They're shortstop happy when drafting but lousy at developing them into a defensive shortstop and even lousier at developing that athletic shortstop at another position , the system under falvey was a mess ...
  17. What the twins need besides a shortstop is players with better defense and can make contact and hit to all fields and in the clutch would be a plus too ...
  18. The twins are desperate for good arms for the bullpen , have we really added a formidable pitcher yet ... Banda is a no brainer , if banda was a free agent this past off season , he would have already been plucked off the free agent market at a more substantial salary , It's a no brainer ...
  19. And at that time when stashak allowed those homeruns , Rocco was whispering to himself , oh well theres always next year ... Kinda wish these articles of falvey and Rocco would come to an end , they were both bad for the organization , they are gone , put it to rest ... I wonder if twins daily did a poll on who was a better general manager between Ryan and falvey. Who would the fans favor today ... Get busy TD , it would be a great debate amongst the TD fans ...
  20. I also agree he could be a good late inning bullpen pitcher , set up man first , Bradley might be closer material , he's bomb out as a starter so is destined for the pen ... I think matthews get Another Crack to start the season as a 4th or 5th starter
  21. We've watched these underperforming underrated players for a few years ... Why would anyone expect the players on our position roster to have anything close to a above average year ... It could happen with some new enthusiasm from our new coaches and manager , play hard and have some fun , if they play hard with passion they will succeed ... Where has all the passion gone , where has all their inspiration to be ballplayers gone , it's a kids game they have been underperforming for some years ... We haven't had a passionate player since arraez and Polanco left , buxton shows some signs but not all the time ...
  22. I saw that too , Lolich had some good years , lefty was a competitor ... Sad to lose our heroes ...
  23. Yes the owners are bad business baseball people , when they inherited the team after their father Carl passed , they didn't really want it , didn't really like it or have a passion for it , but the brothers most likely got together and came to the conclusion that this was going to make them the money they have a passion for ... They really don't like the fans either , of course I have a passion for baseball and if I was like most owners , I'd want a legacy of a winning a world series for the fans , their legacy is being billionaires taking our money without giving anything back ... Now did the owners set Derek Falvey up for failure , that's up for a debate , Falvey did alot of things he shouldn't have and nevrr did a thing when he should have ... Example , 2023 he went out at deadline and yes he got terrible help , but we weren't really a contender that year in my opinion ( yes it was good baseball in 2023 but not good enough at deadline to trade for ) , in 2024 when we are contenders he stands pat at the deadline and twins fail down the stretch ... Know when to hold them and know when to fold them , that is where Falvey' failed ...
  24. Falvey , just glad he's gone and his plan gone hopefully , he's rubbed me the wrong way ever since he was hired , his persona of always trying to be the smartest person in the room , never seemed loyal to the fan base . , but was definitely loyal to Rocco and the players he should have DFA'd ... I dont know if the next operations manager and their plan will be any better but they should only have one way to go , UP ... Play baseball with quality pitching offense and defense , get these players the development they need , if it's outside the organization as one poster mentioned Ryan going to driveline helped him develop from a 2 pitch pitcher ... Everyone wants a good game to watch, not a sloppy game of giving extra outs to the opponents and under Falvey and Rocco that is exactly what the offense and defense did with no change , some change came with the offense towards the end of 2025 ... Some will say it's the owners fault and I would agree to a certain extent , but they put there trust in the personal they hire and Falvey wasn't good at getting a big bang for the buck ...
  25. Thanks for the wright up , Renick was a first class guy , got a taste of MLB baseball and had sucess as a coach ... Condolences to friends and family ...
