I don't know where to start ... I don't know where to end ... Definitely more bad than good for being the smartest person in the room ... His deadline trades were the worst at acquiring and the years he lacked on pulling the trigger and should have acquired players for a push to be better in the playoffs ...

Living on hope and prayer with falvey is no more , now we are living in reality, can the ownership right the sinking ship and hire the competent personal to construct a winning team in the future on a lower budget ... Milwaukee , Tampa , Cleveland have all done well with less payroll than the Twins and the ownership has probably questioned falvey as to why he didn't or couldn't adjust his spending on better players ( spending 11 million on gallo still amazes me ) , nine years it took to find a acorn by a blind squirrel , Bader, France and Colombe , Bader was fun to watch play defense , France for 1 million was a steal , Coloumbe performed well out of the bullpen ... Last year's fun players to watch were Buxton , Bader , Keaschall and maybe Martin , we need better players to make twins baseball fun to watch again ...

It takes a whole organization of strength to make up a good team , owners , FO , players , coaches , this we haven't seen for quite sometime ... We haven't had any sort of identity for quite sometime ... Our starting pitching is our strength and pitching wins games , but a weak bullpen as of now will lose those games , the young power arms we have could surprise us more than the dumpster diving arms ... We have some starters that won't make the 5 man rotation , some we need as depth in AAA but some others that have injury concerns could be moved to the bullpen and monitored on pitching to remain healthy ... Will the bullpen thrive with these young arms in the bullpen, only time will tell , pitching is our strength as of now and that's all we can rely on , defense and offense is another story let's hope our players worked hard during the off season to better themselves ...
-
I'm leaning towards our young starters that don't make the starting lineup to fill in as relievers and then there are some players that have injury concerns that should be regulated to the bullpen so they can maintain and develop innings ... Pitching is a strength , let's find someone for the ¹lineup who can hit to all fields , arraez just signed with giants , arraez was fun to watch when with the twins , he could have probably brought some fans back to the stadium even if he doesn't hit for power and his defense is suspect , our hitting has gone south since losing arraez and Polanco ...

I look forward to the baseball season starting but I dont look forward to the long season of losing ... Players need to step up as professionals ballplayer and play with more passion , you have passion you can succeed at anything ... With falvey and baldelli gone the players have a new dugout voice ( shelton ) , the players should play harder to make the roster in spring training and they should play harder during the season to keep their position as a ballplayer , don't play for just the money cause other players are trying hard to take your position from you ... With no real wisdom in the front office , Shelton should be able to play his , the players and fans style of baseball ... It sure should be a more exciting style of baseball , win or lose ... Shelton in my opinion should connect better with the players better than Rocco , it's a win win situation and now with falvey gone it's a bigger win ... What took so long , did the owners finally get new glasses and hearing aids ... I will root for Shelton to succeed , I was never able to root for baldelli and falvey especially after how they played the 2019 playoffs , catastrophic starting a rookie dobnak in front of Yankee fans that are the worst fans for an opposing team ... I knew then that this group of falvey , Levine and baldelli would never win a world series with the twins , i stated that many times on twins daily since October of 2019 ... I look forward to a new beginning with personal , now the owners need to find a buyer after the work stoppage or strike of 2027 ... I am happy and I know it , stomping the ground ...

I'm glad he's gone but the timing isn't quite right , reminds me when our pitching coach left to go back to college coaching ... Maybe Zoll will show some guts and add something worthwhile for the lineup ... Did Falvey clash with leadership Tom , tom trying to be the alpha dog when falvey wouldn't have none of it , falvey wanted to do it all , im reallysurprised he never went to the dugout to manage when we all knew all the yes men had to follow Falvey's plan ... Shelton hopefully can manage footloose and fancy free ... It's also good for the players ( i hope ) it also allows them to play the game with a Shelton plan and not a falvey plan , Zoll will have to follow him out the door ( falvey clone ) as soon as a new president of operations is hired and changes GM's ... It's a good day for the team and fans , baseball just got alittle more exciting , now the players need to play like professionals and I think they will with nothing holding them back now ...

Yes the FO and company should always be listening on potential trade interest on any player ... We do know Ryan's value is high but like others have stated his value might not be as high as other clubs view him .... Do i like trading our good players , NO , but in reality this team is not even close to being a consistent , competitive or a contending team so a trade is still possible and we should continue to keep listening to the offers ... I to was not totally impressed with the return from the sell off at the deadline , trading the quality of bullpen arms , i would have expected more quality major league ready players back in return ( to soon to know until the 26 seasonis over ) , in a small sample size after the deadline we had Rogen , Abel and Bradley spent some time with the twins to finish the season giving us a glimmer of hope , can't forget Outman either in his showcase with the twins but he'll remain for defense in centerfield with not much of a bat ( just like Keirsey Jr did ) .... Ryan in my opinion would surely welcome to be traded to a contending team and who wouldn't , Ryan and I'm sure other players are glad our past manager was let go , let's hope our new manager shelton and coaches can tap into some of these underperforming players ... Having a new manager certainly can have some impact , players will play harder to impress in spring training to make the club and players will play harder to remain on the roster throughout the season ... Can't believe im saying this about this team , ONE CAN ONLY HOPE ...

Probably just as well if not better , he filled in for Correa back in 2023 and did a commendable job ... Now is he the same player now , they say he lost some steps in his speed due to his lower body injuries ... I'd be willing to switch Lee to third and Lewis to SS , wouldn't hurt to try it out and see if it makes our team better ...

I wouldn't say larnach is the most unliked player on the roster , yes he's right around average for outfielder but I think he is definitely better than wallner even with his cannon of a arm which isn't exactly on target ... Larnach showed improvement hitting lefthanders by raising his wRC+ from 2024 - 63 to 2025 - 71 , give him alittle love for improvement , hitting righties is above league average , how many players did the lineup have that were above average in hitting in 2025 ( not a whole bunch ) ... Outman is pretty much a lock as backup centerfielder just like kiersey Jr was , no bat , good defense ... Our roster is a mess , who's going to be playing where or even on the roster going north , the twins need a hot start but leaving warm temperatures every year to cooler temperatures they just seem stalled out of the gate until the temperatures warm up at Target field ...

Taylor Roger's was brought in to pitch , pitch cheaply at 2 million for the year ... If the younger players are inquisitive and ask Roger's how he does this and that , im sure he'll cooperate and help them out ... He's here to pitch and concentrate on helping the twins win games however that may be ...

Opportunity Season Isn't Over Yet for Twins
Blyleven2011 replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
The long term vision , how can anyone see a long term vision when they sign players late and cheap that no other team has made an offer to ... There is no long term vision on 1 year contracts , I'd rather have the young players play for our long term 6 year future ...- 17 replies

Oh what a tangled web we weave , when first we practice to deceive ... Falvey and big boy Tom fit the bill of half measures so far ... We aren't spending over 3 million on a bullpen arm and most likely with our strength of pitching , our bullpen will be from our in-house surplus of young arms ...

Why Didn't the Twins Go Full Sell-Off?
Blyleven2011 replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
If you were to ask falvey a question at twins fest ... I would ask him if the twins team is more athletic going into this season ??? His answer would be ( our players are definitely more athletic than ME ) ...- 82 replies

Hello fan in NJ , Though they haven't completely come out and said anything substantial about the bullpen , my thought is they never spend on arms on the bullpen , so hopefully they are going with our in-house pitchers to fill the bullpen roster , it's a strength in our system right now ... I'm sure they will dumpster dive for a few arms but my preference would be to have our prospects fill it out , they're not going to spend more than 3 million on an arm , they've proved it for sometime now ... Could coloumbe come back ? , doubtful , Prielipp and Rojas are our lefthanders plus funderburk ... It's definitely a youth movement and hopefully the players play the kind of ball they played after the deadline , it was exciting but we are going to take our lumps and bumps ..

Reported this morning on trade rumors... Twins traded for Tristan gray , infielder ... Late 20's with just a small sample of major league experience , another uninspiring move ... This is the norm for FO and company , nothing changes year after year...

Hope they win the world series is everyones goal in spring training except for the twins ... lots of questions to be answered for sure ,pitching , hitting and defense ... pitching is a strength , FO and personal don't spend money on big arms , we are going in-house with our pitching to fill the bullpen, I could see Bradley and Festa as setup men and Matthew as the closer and if he fails , then Bradley ... There is also raya and Prielipp for depth but Prielipp could win a roster spot out of spring training ... Hitting is not improved but they really have nowhere to go but up , A new manager is going to spark some new enthusiasm in the players ( they should at least play harder and hungrier for a roster spot out of spring training ) and shelton should just tell falvey to BITE ME ... Our 3 options to back up shortstop does not impress , Kiner Falefa would have been my choice ... Comeback player of the twins is Lewis , Shelton reached out to him right away and Lewis now feels like he is wanted and loved so his performance will blossom this year , ( if falvey can live on hope , so can I ) ... Just way to many questions for this organization , thanks for a realistic subject Nick ....

An honorable mention of viola , really , if it wasn't for sweet music and circle me Bert , no chance we would have won the 87 world series , viola MVP ... Viola a Cy young winner , honorable mention , give me a break ... Twins jim kaat pitched injured in the 65 world series , had kaat been healthy for game 7 , dodger players all say Twins would have won the 65 series ... Bert is by far the best right-hander that pitched for the twins , traded in 76 and came home in 86 and helped with 87 world series championship .... Kaat and Santana were definitely the best left-handers that pitched for the twins ... Where was campbell , good reliever , 4 years with twins before Calvin did his thing ... Tapani or even Erickson should have been at least an honorable mention ... Twins have had some good closers but the Vikings have had alot more good runningbacks ...

It's definitely a mess to figure out what they are doing , for years we have had no depth at catcher or firstbase , now they are stuck completely on both positions without really addressing other areas , with the additions at catcher and firstbase who will be the starters is anyones guess right now ... I think jeffers will be traded along with a lefthanded outfielder ....

I have to agree with nick , the bullpen hasn't been addressed so far this off season to fill the bullpen with quality arms ... My guess is they have finally accessed their pitching prospects to be better quality than the dumpster diving philosophy so they are going to add to the bullpen with in-house players , starters that don't make the rotation will get there innings in the bullpen and raya and Prielipp most definitely with their injury concerns need to be bullpen options ... We are building our bullpen with our pitching pipeline , that's how I see it because the pitching has been the only strength the team has showed for 3 seasons now ... Has anyone heard anything about Canterino ???
