    The left handed pitcher problem will not be solved this month or next month. It would not hurt the Twins to sign as many LH pitchers who will be minor league free agents and sign them with an invite to spring training. Then you would at least have batting practice pitchers for a while. The Twins batting coaches seem to be more about mechanics than adjustments. I could be wrong on the coaches. When there have been numerous times words about hitters needing to make adjustments, either they are willfully not doing it, or do not know what adjustments to make. One is a player problem, one is a coach problem

    Paddocks average fastball velocity with San Diego was 94.1, 94.1, 94.9 so his fastball returned to what it was.

    GIDP like RBI is a stat of opportunity. A negative one,, but still opportunity. 45 RBI other than himself is a stat of opportunity . Now if he batted lead off the numbers would look different as the 7/8/9 hitters are less likely to be on base as the usual ones have a sub .300 OBP.

    Gordon hasn’t even been sent on a rehab assignment so at this point it is much ado about nothing. True there still is enough time to get in a rehab assignment. There is not enough time to get him a rehab assignment and enough time to get him adjusted to mlb. He is not that good of a player. Not a bad player, either. A rehab assignment is inn order as a disaster plan. Depending on what you think you might need. One more CF going down is about the only scenario. Larnach can cover the other OF positions.

    If the bast is any indication of what the Mets would trade for you need to look at the trades they made. Robertson, Verlander and Scherzer went for 21 and under high ceiling prospects. I don’t think this FO would make that kind of deal for 1 year of Alonso and a later comp pick. Larnach and lottery tickets perhaps. September, pennant races, playoffs, I suppose it is never too early to shift to fantasy GM time

    Atlanta has done some amazing things. Acura, Ozuna, Olson, and Morton all on very team friendly contracts and the team appears to be healthy every season

    So if you cam’s waive players then the DFA players couldn’t be claimed during Agust, either. Some player would be denied a chance to be on a roster.

    Had the Twins snagged the 2 relievers and Refroe there wouldn’t have been complaints of unfairness nor that the system needs changing. If Cleveland nor Cincinnati make the playoffs the system would be considered working fine by mlb. Tanking for a draft pick at this point in the season. Players playing for a job next year. Every other team that was lower than the standings is in the same boat. Here is to hoping that the Reds Giants, Diamondbacks and Marlins win the draft lottery

    That should be apparent but nobody is going there. A deeper playoff run could have happened with a strengthened bullpen. You can’t let your competitor get better Blocking other teams from getting better happened in the days of revokable waivers. This time it cost Cleveland some money

    28 games left I16 against teams with losing records right now not including 3 against Cleveland. f the Twins go 14-14 Cleveland would have to go 19-9 to tie the Twins in the standing. 20-8 to pass. There would have to be a collapse by the Twins, Cleveland’ gets a lot of hot batting, or a plane fell out of the sky for them to catch the Twins.

    Well, at this point it would be if the Reds or Marlins wanted a player as it would seem unlikely a non playoff contending team would put in a claim. Passing up a chance for a shutdown pullpen should b a no brained. Renfroe and Grichuck have had great careers but not great years. They would be better than Luplow

    If you have enough great players then team chemistry isn’t important. It does seem important as the time passes from the date freer agency was started it seems like the less there are the brawling teams. One of the things free agency allowed was to get away from people you couldn’t stand
