  1. A starter is more necessary than a reliever. Development wise he likely should be in AAA. They need him in the majors. He hasn’t yet shown he doesn’t belong as a starter. That is why he is being used as he is
  2. Cheap free agent guys who were pretty good RP brought back Tyler Watson, Dakota Chalmers or cost Llewelyn Diaz. The exception was Felix Lopez having a career half season
  3. There are about 13-14 not good reasons to not demote Parades. About 5 are still on the roster Adams, Funderburk, Laweryson, Orze, and Rogers are not having that good of season. Alphabetical order is about the order they should be replaced
  4. The article mentions the top 3 WPA. It realy highlights how worthless the stat is
  5. Lawrence was a waiver wire pickup from the Nationals. He was also picked back up from the waiver wire pile from the twins DFAing him . There are pitchers signed as free agents who were DFA, nobody picked them up, they elected free agency, and then they signed as a free agent with twins. I think the correct term might be scrap heap.
  6. The Twins Daily staff must run a preposterous story contest, If you know who the clown from brown is, you know the bit.
  7. Buxton had the chance to leave via free agency.. he signed a team friendly deal to stay with a no trade contract. He has basically said shut up about trades. To continue to go further on this is just clickbait.
  8. He made like 4 years of service time as a borderline mlb player. He made the most of his talents to get chances. So he goes to AAA if not claimed and works for another chance. The state of mlb pitching is such he will get another shot. Nobody has to feel bad for him. Nobody should be disrespecting him either.
  9. 7 innings for Toronto.. yup, no runs. 4 strikeouts, 3 walks, 3 swinging strikes. He has been used 2 out of the bullpen in 2 weeks. The 0 runs is nice but the telling tale is that he didn’t miss bats. The Jays are likely working on that pitch mix and options. His year so far has told them what not to do.
  10. https://runningonnumbers.com/posts/fast-swings-and-barrels/
  11. There are writers saying what the Yankees should be doing. Whether or not the Yankees covet Jeffers would be an inform. As a rental I wouldn’t expect the Yankees to give up anything more than lottery tickets. When the Yankees got Gray at the deadline they gave up a high ceiling pitcher that was injured, an outfielder with upside that ended up without much of a career, and a tired prospect who’s stock was dropping. So the Yankees gave up 3 top prospects, but none that anniversary to anything. When the Yankees got Frasier and Kahnle, the gave up prospects that did not ammount to anything. That is the Yankee way of making trades.
  12. Would you expect the team to not have a good evaluation of the possible returns. In terms of evaluating their own players it would be a meaningless exercise as it only matters what the other team thinks of your players.
  13. If the Twins have a problem with too many starters that would mean they fixed their development problems. Mathews, Festa and Prelipp have all shown flashes, but not results. Rojas hasn’t pitched enough in the majors to say there are flashes. Paredes has had 2 turns on the mound as a multiple inning pitcher who happened to start. All 5 could be the bullpen of the future. They all could have a career of seeing the USA through DFA. They are all good enough to intrigue teams
  14. Would you expect the team to not have a good evaluation of the possible returns. In terms of evaluating their own players it would be a meaningless exercise as it only matters what the other team thinks of your players.
  15. The numbers also say he strikes out at a high level at AAA
  16. Now an article than contains all sorts of stats and graphs would not be full of hyperbole. The last few seasons have not been kind to the Twins winning.. The author’s claim that Larnach is the Twins most dangerous left hand bat just illustrated why the Twins are not winning.
  17. Saying Tampa will make a deep playoff run is wishful thinking. They haven’t made the playoffs the last few years.
  18. Although I doubt who you responded to really knows the answer but there is a certain reality to his statement. A Clemens. Or Bell trade would be for lottery tickets. The level of lottery ticket isn’t going to be what was received for Escobar, Santana, Cruz as there isn’t the track record of success, but more like what what they do for Kinzler, Garcia, Happ, Castro, et al. Maybe a club makes a mistake and gives up a Yennier Cano, but that is a long shot return.
  19. Why did I even have the slightest bit of hope that somehow there could be a new idea somewhere in this article.
  20. Somehow I could believe the author has muttered that they could see the forest if there was not a tree in the way.
  21. The June schedule after today’s game has 15 games against teams with sub .500 records, hence one would think they are manageable games.
  22. Why they don’t trust Fedko shouldn’t be hit hard to figure out. How many prospects have had breakout years only to regress
  23. The sad reality is that 6-7 million in baseball doesn’t buy much on the free agent market for a portion player. That is what was wrong with this off drain.
