  1. Hyperbole. Show it mattered. Plain and simple, it did not matter. It doesn’t make Zoll an idiot it is the least used position on the roster.
  2. By all means say that the 4th bench option was the downfall of the Twins and the decline and ignore the non performance of other players was the cause. Maybe Joe Ryan’s and Byron Buxton’s August had a little to do with it. Oh, that is right, here you can’t say injuries to a star player can’t impact a team. Larnach psych bat went cold Royce Lewis went cold. So what do you have to give up to rent an ace pitcher, all star center fielder, and 2 players who were for stretches league average players? They gave up players with “upside” and nothing more to improve the team. If other teams do not like your upside players the team can’t make more deals.
  3. Upside means there is talent there that just isn’t happening. So you keep upside and hope they don’t turn into Balazovic or trade it and hope the upside on your mlb roster works? Hindsight they king of patched the bullpen, but the upside on the roster was lacking
  4. So you are arguing that the 4th bench option is going to make a difference when none of the call ups that have been called up to be backups have done anything to make anyone think they would have made an 8 game difference. Sorry but nobody in the system was going to come up and be Pete Crow Armstrong.
  5. But you are saying that there was a better backup option there wasn’t for his role. If you want to try to. Be insulting you first have to try to be smart
  6. Jackson was up for 100 games and played in 33. That is similar to many other backup catchers
  7. I doubt having Jackson over someone else would have made a difference
  8. Most trades for below average players net a career minor league player. Trading for 50k is a better outcome, although the fans here seem to think a longshot prospect is better.
  9. What leverage does he have to not want to trade him? Third season in a row with less than average results
  10. A good defensive 1b who can hit 20 hr. What metric so you use to define good? Zebby Mathews does have a lot of quality starts. 11 out of 22 keep in mind 6 inning and 3 runs still makes for a below league average pitcher.
  11. The what if they sold at the 26 deadline requires the overly optimistic belief that you can win the powerball 2 times in a row. When 4 years of Liam Hicks didn’t bring back much, Jeffers wasn’t going to. The draft pick would be a better return. Anyone else traded would have brought back filler.
  12. You have to put on your navy colored glasses, not the rose ones. Put on the video linked below.. That will allow you to see that Lopez will be the one not to recover from TJ, Prelipp’s arm will fall off. Buxton and Rodriguez will be injured every young position player will regress Kody. Clemens will turn back into a pumpkin. All you have to do is as the title suggests.
  13. Butch couldn’t stand New York after Berra was fired as manager. He had to retire due to arthritic feet
  14. The Blur Jays outrighted him at the end of August. SWR elected free agency and signed with Seattle on a minor league contract
  15. Maki was Falvey’s guy. Falvey ain’t here. If Shelton likes him, he will likely stay unless Zoll or a new GM thinks differently. It would not be unexpected for Pohlad to clean house to put his stamp on the place.
  16. 991 game career for Buxton. 224 in leadoff. It is impossible to get RBIs with no one on base
  17. Buxton has a lot of pitchforks in him for someone that is beloved
  18. If he is a Twin next year he will be on the MLB team or the MLB IL Being up foe September does not change that process. September play is not going to. Be the deciding factor. If he came up and failed it removes a lot of value from him. Zoll has to clear some outfielders out.
  19. Pushing chips forward is adding Hoffman, Minter and middle reliever? Adding 8 million to that low of a payroll is nothing. Pushing in chips would have been also adding a capable hitting 1b and a DH to solidify the lineup.
  20. Bwar paints a different picture. With Bradley, Buxton and Jeffers So it comes back to damn lies and statistics. Use whatever makes your point.
  21. Interesting all of the love Jeffers is getting versus what got shoved Buxton’s way Jeffers has played less games so far this year than Buxton has. Why he wasn’t traded was likely there was nothing offered that the Twins, or any other team than Miami would want. The qualifying offer might be almost as much as a 2 years of pay for a part time player. Willson Contreras an Realmuto were the only 2 big catcher contracts given out. Jeffers isn’t either of them
