  1. Hmmm, I wonder what the percentage of strike outs is with 0 or 1 strikes
  2. Great decisions. I totally approve! Not that it matters
  3. Well, if there us not a travel day after game three then you have a point.
  4. Stephenson over Buxtin and Gallo as well. His speed mills in the outfield and on the base path. The guy hit like 320 something in AAA I think so it's not like he doesn't have any offensive skills
  5. Who said it will be a tight game .. if Ryan and Iber leave their best stuff over 4 innings each we might have a nice lead and rest the bullpen.
  6. I agree on Funderburk but would much rather have Iber over Paddock. A solid battle tested pitcher than a player that is finding his way back from Surgery. In fact I would love to see Ryan and Ober each pitching 4 innings in game three.
  7. I still favor 2 starters pitching 4 innings each in game 3
  8. LOL .. I read the headlines and thought, cool, are pitchers boke the strikeout record. Opened the article and went, brain farther..
  9. The play and number of games they got out of Wallner, Lewis, and Julien salvaged their second half ..
  10. I just can't see Paddock pitching in the wild card series. Maybe later rounds if we have an injury and he's had more time to throw. I would love to see the Twins pitch two starters in game three (if necessary) 4 innings each. It could be a combination of any two out of Ryan, Ober and Maeda. Stewart and Varland are a must. Gallo is a must NOT. As much as I would hate to see Lewis not play the wild card round hamstrings are tricky. If he's not 100% I'd rather rest him for a potential round 2. I really have mixed emotions about Buxton making the team. I seriously doubt he can play centerfield and with his knees I think Stephenson is a much better pinch runner. The one big advantage Buxton has is he's a right handed batter that could alternate with Julien at DH.
  11. I agree with your assessment 100% Doc. And no, it's not too early as the Twins are about to wrap up the Central Division, and we have plenty of free time to think about next season before the playoffs.
  12. Even if he has to play on one leg ..
  13. The real question is: who doesn't make the roster if Buxton does, and what is their utility? If it's swapping Luplow for Buxton as a righthanded pinch hitter, I'm fine with that. But as a utility player, I think Stevenson's base-stealing ability is a great asset to have. If it's Buxton vs Gallo I say Buxton all day. There is only room for one of them at best.
  14. I remember seeing the Kernals play in Peoria very early in the season. And as they say, if it plays in Peoria it plays in the rest of the country 🙃 seriously, I was amazed at all of the talent the team had. Witchita is going to be a fun team to watch next year ..
  15. Everyone nowadays says it's not about the wins but I'll bet that if Sony had a 20-win season (which might not be out of the question if we gave him run support) he would have a strong chance of winning the award.
  16. I'm fine with who they drafted. But I'm a little disappointed in how poorly they have traded assets and wish they woukd be a little more aggressive in bringing them up to the big leagues. I'm hoping they use more of them next year.
  17. Yes, he's had it the entire year so it's not going away. I'm not concerned about whether he plays the rest of the regular season or not at all. It's not like he's carrying the team. Our three rookies (Julien, Lewis, and Wallner) are carrying the team and Lewis could take over at SS if need be ..
  18. We did Larnach, a number 1 draft pick, a grave disservice by signing Gallo and robing Larnach of a year in the majors to get seasoned.. I think it was the biggest travesty of the season.
  19. We need to wait and see if Paddock can regain his form in AAA before the end of the season, but yes, we could use middle relief help. Wouldn't it be nice if we had 1.5 WAR, 24 home runs in 410 at bats Rooker as our right-handed left fielder instead of LupLow ..
  20. Agreed. I would replace Wallner with Larnach right now if for nothing more than letting Wallner regain his stroke in AAA. We haven't made the playoffs technically yet, so why not go with the hot hand? But you have to admire that even though Wallner is in a slump, he is still getting on base at a 333 clip due to walks.
  21. Figuring out how to get Gordon on the team in September is easy. But post-season is damn near impossible. If Gordon batted right handed it would be a piece of cake.
  22. Twins had to bring Krilloff up for a multiple of reasons. Who believes Gallo really has a foot contusion. I don't like it that Gallo is still lurking in the shadows. Should have cut the cord once and for all ..
  23. I'm not saying Julien is a plus defender but I think when he came up he was worried about making mistakes and thinking too much which is understandable. Now that he has garnered confidence he's free to just react to the ball. All he has to be is an average defender and Julien is good as gold.
