  1. Actually only have one option. Promote him to the bigs or lose him.
  2. It's not Larnach's fault the Twins risked 11 million on Gallo to the detriment of Larnach and Wallner. The Twins seem to favor keeping players that are out of options so maybe it's good he will be out of options next year. They can leave him alone and let him develop because Gallo isn't going to be here next year and Kepler should get traded ..
  3. I spend all of my time trying to figure out who we can get rid of so kids like Lewis and Lee have a spot on the twins roster. In my dreams I invasion seeing a line up sometime next year of: Julien 2B Lee 3B Lewis CF Krilloff 1B Wallner RF Larnach LF Correa SS Jeffers C Buxton DH Anyone else think this lineup could do damage?
  4. If anyone is looking for a big splash move to improve the team this trade is just a distraction.
  5. I don't see an extra year of control a plus in regards to Lopez. Correa banged the table to trade for him and we gave up a lot of young players. Now let's move on to fixing our Gallo mistake and maybe trade Gordon as it's looking like Castro is the real deal. I think Castro is more versatile than Gordon and a better defensive player. He's a better base stealer and just as good a hitter as Gordon if not better. And finally, Castro is a switch hitter when our team is overloaded with left handed batters.
  6. Isn't Lewis right handed. Can't Polanco bat right handed. How much is not being able to hit left handers due to Vazuez, Buxton, Taylor and Correa not hitting.
  7. Right on! The article says, no route to the majors. Why, because Twins management was supposed to trade Kepler over the off-season and decided to sign Gallo. Who's fault is that. Not Wallner and Larnach. Look at the last two or three games. The young guns Wallner, Larnach, Julien, Krilloff have carried this team. All it would take is to move Gallo and shut Buxton down for the season to get him ready for next, whether that means another knee scope or not. When Lewis and Gordon are ready you're going to need to take a look at Salono and Farmer and decide whether you want to lose Gordon or not. Hard decisions have to be made. Do the Twins believe in our young players or or do they want to ride some mediocre old guys to the playoffs?
  8. You beat me to it and with first class sarcasm to book. I was dumbfounded when he pulled Wallner for Vasquez. Not that Wallner deserved to bat as he had only been on base all four times up. Maybe coach was playing the old, regression to the mean theory. On base four times in a row how could he possibly make it 5. I get it, left handed pitcher and Wallner bats left. We're much better off putting in an inferior hitter that is so slow he clogs up the bases. And our only back up catcher too boot but no way our starting catcher takes a ball to the adam's apple with a chance of being removed from the game and the Twins having to decide who will play catcher and what outfield position a pitchers can play because you sure can't put the pitcher at first and Vazquez in the outfield. Batting right handed against a left handed pitcher should not trump everything ..
  9. Sorry about the (why the hell) part Lou. You simply proposed an option. I just get frustrated when the Twins are slow to trust the kids I've been following in the minors for year. I feel robbed when they trade them before they get an opportunity to prove themselves in the big. I posted the stats simply to show our problem isn't the young guns. I however would offer up Meranda. I think he's had enough time in the big to show his deficiencies thanks for writing the article my friend.
  10. Here is Lewis/Krilloff/Julien/Larnach/Wallner combined statistics in a Twins uniform this year .. AB 634 Hits 179 Runs 95 HR 28 RBI 97 BA 282 OBP 372 SLG 465 Why the hell would we trade one of these guys to pick up another veteran? They are the foundation of the future. Trade your veterans away if you want but leave the young guys alone.
  11. Here's a question for you guys .. On the 2023 Minnesota Twins team, who is hitting; AB 539 Hits 144 Runs 81 HR 23 RBI 78 OBP 370 SLG 462 OPS 825 Our rookies, Julien/Krilloff/Larnach/Wallner combined. Bring up more please ...
  12. Shut down Buxton for the year in hopes he can regain his health next year. Trade Gallo or cut him. He needs to go. I could go either way with Farmer but we will most likely need to clear room for when Lewis returns. Castro can be more of a utility infielder if need be. And we need to clear room for Polanco as well as keep Julien. Maybe Farmer will have to go at some point.
  13. If you want this thread to go on all day try to figure out who goes down if Julien stays up. 🤔
  14. Wins should still be the key metric because the deeper you pitch into a ball game the higher your probability of winning ..
  15. Shouldn't this article be about which left-handed outfielder should come up from AAA?
  16. OCTOBER? OCTOBER? DON'T TALK TO ME ABOUT OCTOBERS!!! Unless you fix our hitting. lol
  17. I'd move on to shake things up. Don't we have someone in our minor league system that could fill in until next year. How could it be any worse than what we are doing now?
  18. Beyond possibly the first pick, I've never heard of any of the college baseball players, and only because of the articles about our possibly first-round selection leading up to the draft. Now I can't wait to find out who we spend our international money on that I've never heard of .. I spend all my time following them in the minors once we sign them. Much more productive that way, don't you think. lol

    2nd half moves

I didn't check the AAA, AA,High A and Low A box scores every night for the last 10 years following our promising young players to watch them pigeon hold in at AAA because management didn't think they would be ready and loaded up with low quality major leaguers. Who sends down the RBI leader {Larnach) for most of the season and Wallner after he was on the biggest hot streak this year and continued to tear it up in AAA for another 10 days straight. When you boil it all down, baseball is entertainment. Yes, you try to win the world series every year but people watch baseball for entertainment to get a little respite from their day to day lives. And how can you squander the best starting pitching staff we have ever had with hitters that have a tough time scoring more than 3 runs a game. Those guys are pitching their asses off while management is fiddling around watching Rome burn. Let the young guns play, damn it!!! Surround Correa and Buxton with a team of guys that have played together in the minors and are full of enthusiasm. Correa and Buxton are supposed to the leaders but you can't lead when you are mirrored in a slump all year. Maybe a youth movement will inspire them. And I know fans would get much more entertainment watching all of the young guns play .. Damn that rant felt good. Really cathartic .... lol
  20. Interesting idea. * It would take stress off of the starters but put stress on the relievers. That said, we could always send down and bring up relievers from STP to keep them fresh but do we have the depth of good relievers. * Maybe either Keuchel and Maeda become swing men where they become the long reliver and spot start when the scheduling gets tight. * Maybe one of our starters goes on IL before Kuechel's opt-out. But one thing is highly likely, we either bring him up before his opt out or he's probably gone.,
