  1. Farmer for Castillo Krilloff for ? That's the only question I have. The coaches will figure out the rest ..
  2. Had we never signed Donaldson in the first place we would have had the money to sign Correa anyway. And if we hadn't signed Donaldson we would still have Garver an Rortvet instead of a 19 old reliever. So the only problem was signing Donaldson in the first place
  3. Once Julien settles in the bigs, hits for more power than Arraez with the same on base percentage this is going to look like one hell of a trade ..
  4. Simply amazing how a physical specimen like Buxton can be so fragile. I can see why they may want to ease him in to center field but not DHing every day is beyond me.
  5. So I attended the Cedar Rapids game in Peoria las night. Was disappointed they didn't have their radar gun running. Connor looked very sharp the first two inning. There weren't a lot of swings and misses but he pretty much was sawing off the handle of the bats. I've never seen so many weekly ground balls. In the third he walked the first batter and then gave up a smoking hot triple. Had another rough inning in the 4th but not many hard hits. For a kid that hasn't had any work for several years I think he did a good enough job in his first game back. Physically he's a big powerful kid who carries a lot of confidence. As for the fielders the team was loaded with potential big leaguers. Rodrigues, Miller, Schobel, Rosario, Urbina and possibly Cavaco. You don't see that many on a single A team at one time very often. I was especially excited to see E. Rodrigues. He's powerfully built but not bulky at all. The kid was a finely honed athlete with a beautiful swing. He has had a tough start at the plate this season and 3 strikeouts last night but how many times do you see a lefty hit a 400 foot shot to the base of the left center wall. Glad they included the video so you all could see it. I also really like Rosario. The kid is powerful.
  6. So I'm eating at Potbelly's in Peoria yesterday for lunch. 4 big dudes come. I said, you guys must pay for Cedar Rapids. Had the tell me their names. Last one was Connor Prielipp. The kid is really big. Tall and thick. His demeanor was different than the others. Very confident but not conceded. Good mental make up for the big league. It get's better. Connor makes his first major league debuted tonight and I will be sitting in the stands. Pretty cool
  7. What does it matter. With Correa/Lewis/Lee ahead of them ...
  8. My biggest disappointment is they don't use it to call every pitch. Why just put your toe in the water when you can dive in .. It's either good for the came or bad. What they are doing is kind of half pregnant ..
  9. I can't help but wonder how the game would have come out if Buxton had been the DH. I can understand them not wanting him to play centerfield the first month but I can't see how he's not able to DH every day. Especially when we know we need all hands on deck to beat this pitcher
  10. Much prefer Winder over Sands ...
  11. Thanks J .. I just got a look at Cedar Rapids roster and started drooling as I live about two an a half hours from there.
  12. Other than Festa, I think this is the weakest AA team the Twins have fielded by far .. But with young players like, ,Lewis, Julian, Miranda, Krilloff, Larnach, Wallner; and Lee with Correa and Buxton locked down long term, who gives a **** ..
  13. Although MIranda isn't the best defensive player the fact that he's right handed, and hits like a bangy, play two positions and DH will injure he gets plenty of at bats. When he doesn't start he most likely will get a lot of pinch hitting opportunities as well.
  14. Waiting for Krilloff and Lewis to be healthy enough to make the big league roster is like waiting for Buxton to get back from injury. Feels like a jinx to me ..
  15. Totally not a surprise. I mean, who's spot was he going to take.
  16. Only reason is Ober is too good and they can't have one of the others drop out. But I'm a 4 man rotation kind of guy so 6 does not do it for me.
  17. Nobody knows ... Will be interesting to find out. I know when I watch him he has good stuff. But then, so does Pagan ..
  18. Miranda's bat will keep him in the lineup. He can DH and back up 3rd and 1st ..
  19. On a more philosophical note: I cut my teeth on watching the Twins through out the sixties. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't remember players getting hurt much or players coming up and down from the minor league like we have now. If they needed Tommy John surgery there wasn't any and it would have ended their career. Same with torn ligament of the knee. We didn't baby pitchers. Through them out there every four days with no pitch count. So what's changed?
  20. Thanks for that explanation Chris. Guess the only real option to trading Polanco is not appealing as it would mean we were out of the race and we trade him at the trade deadline.
  21. Polanco puts tremendous stress on his ankle when he takes violent swings. I'm not sure if his ankle gives out because it's already hurt or the violent swings are what injures his ankle. Either way, if he keeps it up his career will be greatly shortened. Because of this I would prefer to trade him at the end of this season ..
