  1. My pick would be Kyle Teel .. I think the Twins brain trust they don't have long to pull a rabbit out of the hat and they have a chance to be long gone before a high schooler can develop to serve their cause. Teel is now number 6 and we need a star catcher so I think it's going to be Teel.
  2. Kind of depends on where we stand in the race come the deadline. I'm assuming we will be in the thick of it so I can't see wholesale changes or Gray getting traded. But MY preference would to do whatever they can to make room for Larnach and Wallner and keep Julien on the team. I also think Castro has better long term potential than Gordon. I'd put Kepler, Gallo, Gordon and Polanco on the block and use them to stock the minor leagues and beef up the bullpen. I wouldn't mess with the starters. After September 2st I'd add Williams.
  3. With Lee available next year I don't think Miranda has a home. What about putting Polanco at third when he comes back so we can leave Julien on the roster.
  4. How about: Julian 2B Lewis 3B Krilloff 1B Wallner RF Larnach LF Correa SS Buxton DH Castillo CF Jefferson C
  5. WHAT IF? I bet Keuchel could pitch 3 innings every 4th day physically. So what if every 4th day our starter goes 5 or 6 innings and Keuchel takes it from there. If 6 innings take it home and if 5 inning pitch his 3 innings, then, if we need a save bring in Duran or if the game is in hand bring in someone else. The benefit is that every 4th day the bullpen gets to take off and reset ..
  6. My read is we will be left choosing between the two high school outfielders or stepping up to take Teel. I'm fine with any of those. First preference is Langford fall to us but ....
  7. IF, Kyle Teel is above average on defense I would love this pick. He has a direct path to the Bigs in 2026. We have all the talent we need in the infield and outfield for the near future so why not lock down the catcher position. His left handed bat would go nicely with Jeffers right handed bat as well ..
  8. A big part of Arraez success comes from incredible plate discipline. He knows that if you swing at balls out of the strike zone they will keep pitching you out of the strike zone. He also has supreme confidence in his contact skill with 2 strikes which gives him the confidence to take pitches. So why should our batters take pitches even if their contact skills aren't as good? Because they already strike all the time so why not take any pitch that is on the edges and outside of your wheel house. Make the pitcher throw perfects strikes on the concerns. They will also benefit from taking pitches that look like they are going to catch the corner but are designed to get you to chase a ball off the plate. I'm convinced that the team could raise their team average by 20 points by being disciplined. It's their fear of striking out that is causing them to strike out.
  9. I would be a lot more invested if we brought up Wallner, Larnich and possibly Williams. I'm ready for a full on youth movement. I'm very invested when Julian, Krilloff and Lewis step to the plate.
  10. It might wake him up. Seems like he's sleep walking at the plate right now but if c'orrea goes to the 8 slot Buxton should go to the 9
  11. I'd give the overall talent in our pitching pipeline a C or C+ right now. Time to restock through trading ageing veterans like Polanco, Kepler, Gallo for promising high A prospects and taking a higher percent of pitchers in the first 10 rounds of this years draft if the right oportunities arrive. After all, we will need to restock our relievers in a few years .. 🤣
  12. It's not like we don't hit and miss on first round picks anyways. Why not take a swing at a position of need who could be major league ready in a few years ... I'm not for taking a high school player and wait 7 years ..
  13. Not evaluating talent but from a pure positional need, I think our system could use a starting pitcher or catcher prospect the most.
  14. How bout we just keep bringing up players we developed and trade any veterans for young minor league players to stock our farm system. Not seeing any benefits from trading for veterans ... Just kidding, but maybe not ...
  15. None of this is Kepler's fault. He is what he is. It's managements fault for running him back out there over and over and signing Gallo when we had/have a stable of young outfielders ready for the bigs.
  16. I've seen Buck in these pull happy slumps many times and the only way he gets out of them is waiting on the pitch longer and trying to hit it to right center field. I call it bi-polar disorder. When he's off his meds he hits terrible ..
  17. DAMN GOOD ARTICLE, DOC!!! I agree with you 100% Even the Head coach part. I'm done with him.
  18. Lewis needs swings in the major's to get better. I'd stack his .281 average at this stage of the year up to Gallo, Kepler sub .200, Buxton trending that way, Honestly I thought the article was going to be about the errors he's made at third base ..
  19. I'd suggest changing his name to Bert Blyleven and let him pitch all the innings he wants .. Don't treat Ober like a pussy. He's a strapping young man
  20. Great to hear Castro has options left, not that I am saying we should send him down, but if Polanco and Gordon come back we will need all the flexibility we can get.
  21. Ryan could have only given up 2 runs and we still wouldn't have won the game. I honestly think Buxton would hit better if he was playing the field. Put him in left or right field if you like where it's safe with less running. Sure he could get hurt. All of our players seem to get hurt all the time. But if he's going to suck at DH, what does it matter. I'd rather have Buxton hurt and Wallner at DH than Buxton floundering at DH. And having Kepler robbing Larnach or Wallner from abouts at the major league level to continue their development is unconscionable.
  22. Kepler, Pagan and dare I suggest we add Jorge Lopez to the list? Well, maybe not yet but he better get out of the gutter soon.
