  1. How sick of the Twins must the Rangers and their fans be at this point?
  2. It’ll be close, but I don’t think he’ll make it. It’s likely Correa finishes as the only qualified batter on the team. Doesn’t that have to be a record of some sorta? Has there ever been a team that finished with zero?
  3. Correa is the teams leading batter…it’s an official fact.
  4. Sands for 3 innings of shutout ball would be great. Sands for 4+ innings, with 10 allowed also acceptable.
  5. Time for the baseball part of the organization to move on. The org should ensure that he is provided the best medical resources and advice possible, and let what comes after that be whatever it will be. But on the baseball side, in 2024 forward, they need to plan on filling a center field role and have a legitimate plan for DH. Anything short of that is inexcusable from the FO. If Buxton comes back and can help somewhere, fine. But to plan on it is foolish.
  6. Yep…Twins are going to have to finish above 500 it looks like 😉
  7. Rocco with the hot hand with the pinch-hitters. Nice win. Two very encouraging starts from Ryan. The time off seems to have served him well.
  8. Buxton’s rehab getting him ready to play CF: 7 innings in center, day off, then DH tonight (just K’d with the bases loaded on a pitch a foot outside.)
  9. Wouldn’t be surprising…what is driving it? Health? Just had enough?
  10. Kinda close…But even when teams matchup evenly most games are decided by the players. Yesterday’s outcome wasn’t impacted by the managers…and Francona hasn’t ‘managed’ the Twins into 0-9 RiSP tonight. If you ask me over a season…the answer is obvious…but over the next 5 (now 4 1/2) games, it’s unlikely to be an avalanche of difference in terms of outcomes.
  11. Lopez with a ‘quality’ start. Was unfathomable after the first 4 innings.
  12. I think I’d concur…Hou probably the least favorable matchup…at least out of the West.
  13. How is this game only 3-0? Cleveland with 7 hits through 4 innings, but 1-10 with RiSP
  14. We’ve seen their left tackle and their right tackle…who will they throw at us in the 3rd?
  15. 0-4 RiSP after one inning. There’s something you don’t see every day. Even Twins fans.
  16. Kody has a chance to be the best Funderburk to ever have played for the Twins.
  17. Got a little Puckett in him in that he ain’t up there to walk or to wait and hope that the perfect pitch comes along when there are runners in scoring position. He’s hacking!
  18. Much bigger bang for the buck than free agency.
  19. There’s only about a 20% chance that the best team in baseball would beat the worse team in baseball 6 games in a row. The Twins aren’t the best nor is Cleveland the worse. And as far as the division title goes, 3-3 will absolutely get it done for the Twins.
  20. Martin, yes. But I’m with TwinkieFan…DaShawn Keirsey needs more love. Higher OPS at St Paul than Martin. Unfortunately for Keirsey, left-handed outfield bats don’t seem to be a need anytime soon. It is worth noting that OPS’s in that league are very inflated. A list of players with higher OPS (some much higher) than Marin and Keirsey at St Paul this year includes…Prato, Stevenson, Julien, Wallner…Chris Williams’s is on par, as well. If you include very small sample guys like Helman and Farmer, etc, then Martin/Keirsey are well down the list. Still, what seems so enticing about Martin…besides the right-handedness: the defensive flexibility, the relatively low K’s…the relatively high BB’s, and the baserunning. Keirsey checks all those boxes except he’s only played outfield, and he’s a left-handed hitter.
  21. Agree…hopefully the opportunity presents itself. He’s very valuable even when he isn’t hitting. And rest might give the bat a boost as well. I really appreciate his ability and willingness to go out there and try to do his job (nearly) every day. That should be something easy for Twins fans to appreciate.
  22. Much ado about nothing. Jeffers knew why he was plunked…and if someone sticks a microphone in front of Garvey and asks him about it, he’s not going to say his current teammate was out of line…he’s going to back his teammates. Moving on.
  23. 31 games remaining, 9 of which will be against teams over 500. The Twins can’t lose the division this coming week. But they could win it, for all intents and purposes.
  24. And he could probably go tomorrow...lest they're worried he loses some velocity 😀
