That was quite a game today. The Twins lost. this isn't football. They play again tomorrow. 

That's what I don't understand.  We tagged 3 runs on Misiorowski, which hasn't been done in a month and Preilipp came through and gave us a chance to win.  Wouldn't have guessed that at all from the start of the game.  Definitely missed chances to win the game in the late innings.  Before the road trip started, I would have taken a .500 road trip.  We were a bad two games in KC away from doing it.

They were doing that until this road trip. They need to play at a 60% clip IMO. Too many teams are jumbled up and one is going to get hot, probably. I don’t care now what preseason expectations were. I want postseason baseball.

Boston hit their hot streak and went from irrelevant to a team that could go 0-7 in a week and still be in control of their destiny.

Tigers have an open door to push Twins to 4th in division today. (Tied for 3rd if Cleveland continues to lose). Twins are a whopping -120 in run differential compared to the Tigers. Cleveland is -110. Tigers are even +50 on Chicago! I still think the Tigers are going to win the Central.

Yeah. We’ve been like a fishing bobber. Up and down up and down, until this trip. Those losses to the royals were terrible and crucial. Almost got swept. That’s why I’m not rainbows and unicorns that we scored 3 runs off the Miz today. It’s just another L that could have been a W

It will be frustrating when Detroit finishes ahead of us after another sell at the deadline.

I think it's the opposite. Folks are unhappy because there's a real rooting interest and this road trip has been a kick in the pants. If it was what you were suggesting, no one would care about today's outcome.

I was reacting to the comments which are easily negative on the balance.

..... which not exactly all that unusual. Tune in late to games in the 8th and 9th inning or in extras and you see this is not rare by any stretch. The heat and breaking stuff from relievers is nasty.

It's not that unusual to leave the bases loaded in the 7th and 8th inning? You must watch 100 games per day at every level.

It’s been that way for many years, with possibly 2023 excepted. You either get used to it, leave the game threads altogether (which many have), or put a whole bunch of people on ignore, which is what I’ve done. I see the comments and interact with the people I choose to. The rest, not so much.

I lost internet (and mlb radio) while driving just after they went up 3-1. So i missed Clemens tying the game, and us eventually letting a manfred man score.

Sure, i'd like to have won, but this is the next best thing, losing to a rule imposed to reduce the number of marathon extra inning events. Somehow it reminds me of Col. Fairfax's monologue before "is life a boon"... if anyone cares about theater more than a century old...

I don't know... I'm too lazy to mute people... It has occasionally lead to awkward exchanges, but the way i am, even the best of times i stumble upon those.

 

Sadly i'm also too lazy to fully engage in these threads as i used to occaisonally.
