So sick of 0-0 count insignificant results challenges. Such a waste of a challenge with nothing to really gain. Even 0-1 count. All ego for batter. 
 

Regarding the very significant pitch that was miscalled a ball to Delgado and neither Caratini nor Ryan challenged, (in Ryan’s previous start) and in others defense of Caratini they pointed bout Ryan could have challenged, too — it was pointed out by the announcer today tha Shelton has laid down the law that he never what’s his pitchers to challenge. So clearly Ryan and the other pitchers are honoring that.

Yeah...he's Anthony Recker. He was a career backup catcher/minor leaguer for a handful of teams like 15 years ago...including about 5 seconds with the Twinkies. He was done playing by 2020 and went to work for the Mets on SNY. I have no idea how he ended up here on Twinks tv. I don't care for him either. I guess the rest of the tv stable had plans for the weekend.

I am not so sure it is ego as much as it is their competitive nature.  I don't like those challenges either but I think they are getting caught up in the moment and don't want to be down in the count.  It is the same reason they don't want pitchers challenging, they are not going to be objective.

It's not Anthony recker  , it's Adam octtivino  , no idea why only maybe cause of peacock and octtivino was a Yankee pitcher at one time ...

I believe they have shown that challenging on a 0-0 count is important as it changes the entire outcome of the AB depending on whether the count starts 1-0 or 0-1.  0-1 or 0-2 challenges make little sense as does most challenges with 2 outs, unless there are RISP.  I am glad that Shelton has told the pitchers not to challenge pitches.  Interviews with pitchers earlier this year suggest that they think everything near the plate is a strike.

After a 10 pitch first inning, the Yankees started doing Yankee things; taking pitches, woking counts, fouling pitches off, etc... It took Ryan a couple of innings, but he started throwing first pitch strikes again and had an 11 pitch 4th and an 8 pitch 5th...

If he goes on the IL, you need to send down Fedko down if Shelton isn't going to play him  You can't play with a three man bench and either two are catchers or one would be Bell if Jeffers DH's.  I believe Jeffers will be up regardless on Tuesday unless he has a setback today.

A fan that calls his own team Twinkies and Twinks? Regardless of what they do, I never get that. But to each their own. Certainly a fan has that right. Sometimes our Twins may play like that, and I have heard apologists of the usage as claiming it is endearing, but it just feels playground abuse disrespectful to me.

If they are planning on trading Jeffers, I think he will.  He will need to be DFA'd or waived and I think he would be claimed.   You can't count on Cardenas as your backup catcher.
