Injury updates from Bobby Nightengale:

Twins prospect Hendry Mendez was activated from the IL at Class AAA St. Paul.

Outfielders at St. Paul now: Walker Jenkins, Alan Roden, Matt Wallner, Gabriel Gonzalez, Kala’i Rosario and Mendez.

Gonzalez has been seeing more time at first base.

The outfield definitely has an abundance of talent. It will be interesting to see how they make it work. It’s crazy, just 7-10 days ago, they had to play Ross and Schobel in the outfield because they didn’t have enough outfielder bodies.

SWR DFAd by the Jays

Keaschall starting in RF tonight and Clemens at 2B

I wish there was a teeth chattering emoji for this.  I know they have been working with Keaschall in the OF.  Maybe a game off on Wed and a day off on Thursday is enough practice before a game.  I wish Target Field had a cleaner wall for him.  That overhang can be tricky to judge fly balls, but he will probably create fewer errors in RF than at 2B.

As for SWR, it doesn't surprise me that he was DFA'd by the Blue Jays.  Bieber is back with the Jays and SWR presents a conundrum right now because he can't really be used as a relief pitcher, and he can't be trusted to be a starter without another swing man in place.  I know he didn't give up any runs as a Jay.  If you look under the hood, his effectiveness wasn't any better than he was in Minnesota.  He just happened to have a competent defense behind him to bail out his mistakes.  He will land somewhere just because many teams are desperate to have innings-eating pitchers.  Per ESPN's scoreboard, the Mets haven't even announced their starting pitcher for tonight's game with less than 3 hours to first pitch.

Edouard Julien and Willi Castro 😀

I would not like for my life to depend on those two in any way.

I'd take SWR over the waiver wire bullpen arms we usually claim... problem is he doesn't have any options.

Looks like their starting Gray at SS. I'm sorry, but why?

its as STUPID as  putting Luke in R.F.    they create problems  for players , so now we have Martin  and Luke  as  r.f. with no power really,   You tell Luke your goin down for awhile and playing 2b every inning of every game then its up to you to show your a Major Leauger or not ,  but all this does is create problems ,-- Dont like it !!!    Grey should be D.F.A. another brain dead move !!!    We also have a abundance of Outfielders here and A.A.A. That all need to be figured out before end of this year,  AGAIN  will they please explain if they even have a long term plan ,-    im not seeing it !!!!

Is it ludicrous to hope for a victory tonight?

Even with the twins' defensive woes, you still have to keep in mind that the Rockies' pitching is very shaky and questionable and very easy to take advantage of.

No Rockies starting pitching has been announced for either weekend game..maybe we'll play cornhole.

actually they updated it recently, should be Lorenzen vs Paredes and Feltner vs Prielipp. I think they sometimes do openers  for those guys too, so last minute we could see that, but those two will show up in some form this weekend
