Sweet Lou and Ol Gregg try to figure out whether the Twins are frisky or not. How many more bullpen arms will sail into the Great Beyond? Will Byron Buxton be traded regardless of all evidence to the contrary? And we play a very original segment: Type This Up.

Buxton had the chance to leave via free agency.. he signed a team friendly deal to stay with a no trade contract. He has basically said shut up about trades. To continue to go further on this is just clickbait.

No team in baseball would have given Buxton what the Twins did. It was an absurd offer 7yrs $105MM for a guy who might have commanded 2-3yrs at $40-60MM max, and definitely without a NTC in free agency.

A smart organization would figure out a way to trade him

He wants to remain a Twin so understandable.  I think the Twins trade him in 2028.  By then they will have sustained two maybe three straight seasons of losing and will need the prospects after Ryan, Jeffers, and Lopez are gone.  To be honest I think they should start retooling now.  Jeffers is gone, Ryan will surely be gone, Lopez is out for the entire year and will be rehabbing in 2027.  It makes on sense to cling to Buxton.  By the time the Twins have a decent team again he's likely mid 30's.

I hope he waives the clause, myself.

Meanwhile the Twins org is doing and saying the only thing they CAN (publicly) do and say…which is nothing, and stating their intent to keep him. Nothing to be gained from any other approach. Buxton has all the marbles, and nothing real…whether behind-the-scenes or public…is happening or being said until such time Buxton does it or says it. And so far, he continues to say the opposite.

But we aren't there now. The question is what to do now ...I agree, this organization has failed for decades....

That said, I keep him.

Please explain how they will trade him in 2028, the situation will be no different than it is today.
