Old friend Miguel Sano still hit 17 home runs  in NBP so he still has raw power, strike out prone, while collecring a check. Wonder if Sano ever tried getting Lasik or corrective eye surgery. I seem to rember he had an eye condition and trouble with  depth perception. Issues with contacts. When he was going good, Sano was a pretty  good bat. Terry Ryan moving him to right field was a huge mistake.

Classic style. 4 inn, gave up 6 hits, no runs. Threw 96 pitches! Royals won, 6-2 over A's. Dobnak is 2-1, 1.73 ERA.

We have talked about Dobnak's success this year. Have the WSox-Royals game on (rooting for Cleve) and Dobak got hammered for 6 runs (4ER) in 1.1 inn before getting the proverbial hook.

Martin Perez to IL with lower back inflammation. He had pitched really well this season and was likely going to factor into the Braves playoff rotation.

So much for the roll, Dobnak is now getting rocked! He pitched 1.1 innings yesterday in the loss to the Chisox, and gave up 6 hits and 6 runs (although only 4 earned). The game before that, against the Pirates, he managed 3.2 innings, giving up 7 hits and 4 earned runs. I guess he is now out of contention for the Cy Young. But hey, he had a nice run there for a couple of months.

His BA with Philly is 50 points lower than with SD, and is OPS is 120 points lower. Doesn't seem to have been a great trade even before this bad luck.
