I’m about 90% certain Vazquez caught almost every one of his starts the first half of the season. But too lazy to look it up.

This is classic bad team baseball. Score 3 to get back into the game and then give up 4 with 2 outs to be pushed back out of he game. I bet we get less than 3 more hits the rest of the way and lose by more than 7 runs. I don't blame the team for basically giving up at this point.

There are players who put winning above money. Thing is, baseball is corporate so the players know they cannot make most of their decisions so  money is a reality. The only reason that Carlos Correa signed with the Twins is because no other team would sign him. The Twins had to outbid themselves. Pete Alonso went back to the Mets instead of signing elsewhere. Does anyone believe he signs with the Twins if they are high bidder? So money is a thing but the control of these players by the clubs makes independence or choice of employer for most players a distant thought.

Okay I just looked this up to settle the debate. In Joe Ryan starts, it was 16 starts by Vazquez, 6 starts by Jeffers before Vazquez was injured. Interesting it was tied 6-6 and then Vazquez played the last 10 starts by Joe.

Jeffers actually caught 6 of the first 11 Ryan starts (if you count his "start" in the resumption of the suspended game against Cleveland), but Vasquez caught the rest of the first half starts starting in June.  Ended up catching 13 of his 19 first half starts
