On that play where Rocco challenged retouching first base, I don't think the replay guys could find the rule. When I was involved in baseball I would read the rule book every year. I don't remember that play at all. I have never seen that play. My admitted guess is that the New York dudes had no ide what to do and just made something up. The runner clearly stepped with both feet past the bag. I couldn't tell if his one foot brushed the bag when he started to run to second but they rules he did not step past first base.

I was wondering about that too.  If you believe the internet:    "In baseball, a runner is not required to retouch first base between pitches if the ball is alive. However, they are required to retouch first base when the ball is dead, such as after a foul ball, a timeout, or if they are forced to return to their original base due to a play. Some runners may retouch the base between pitches as a habit, to measure their lead, or to reorient themselves, but it's not a required action."

Just wanna say...idk how everyone constantly misspell so many names here. Not pointing you out but you were the fourth straight person to spell it wrong.

Keirsey.

He's a Twin! There are only 26 players! He's been on the team for over 50 games this season!

Aaggghhhhh!

Keirsey Junior !

Pretty cheap way to try to win a game, all in all.

yeah, B.S.

This is the way they determine if he has gone all the way past the base.   If  both feet aren't completely in the yellow shaded area, he hasn't gone completely past it.

Yes, but your quote from the internet does not cover not retouching first base after running back over the bag on a play. It still hasn't been answered because out Tv announcers are clueless and have not had anyone yet read it up and report.

Technically speaking, while following the surname, it is not PART of the surname. Why you never see a Griffey Jr jersey.

Go right ahead. There's a difference n typos and just not knowing how to spell someone's name. Earlier I wrote Rooked. In context it's clear I know his name is Rooker. I'm not convinced most people here know how to spell DaShawn's name.

It's a pet peeve of mine. I think he's pure dogshit but he deserves the respect of knowing how to spell his name.

Are you assigning my intent?

Keep your pet peeves to yourself. That’s why they are pets.
