Why would you assume Baldelli is on the hot seat? There is nothing stating this anywhere.

This team is the worst in baseball since last August. Attendance has cratered. The TV launch is a disaster since no one cares now. And they are trying to sell the team. They have to do SOMETHING. It's not all Rocco's fault, he has to eat the biggest share of the pie.

What's the argument against firing him?

The incompetence of this organization, first and foremost. He's Falvey's guy.

Time to blow this thing up. They are losing many games anyways. Rocco isn't making a difference either way.  Bring in the Saints and unload as many Veterans as you can. This Twins team is cooked.  People are not gonna buy tix either way as Pohlads have eroded fan loyalty and apathy surrounds all of this.

I was typing up a similar response. This franchise has always been slow to fire coaches/GMs, Rocco is Falvey's guy and Falvey is alone atop the power structure of this organization.

I don’t know. I think this stinks too badly. He was fortunate to have survived the collapse last year. A start like this, no attendance, unprepared team. It’s very possible

Since Falvey is now the team President, he has to worry about things like the God awful attendance and TV ratings now. That's more of a reason to do it, not less. Otherwise he's primed to get fired himself the minute there's a new owner.

This team feels way more disengaged. They don't care. And they have a lot of tradeable guys. They might actually play better once they dump as many vets as possible.

These guys have to know their manager is on the hot seat, yet they still play like.....they don't care?

That probably says all we need to know about this team right now.

If Rocco is really on the hot seat, I can understand why they're sucking.  I'd guess his job is safe

"He's Falvey's guy" is not a good enough excuse to justify 16-37 over the last 53 games. This team has flaws but it's a lot more talented than 16-37.

He absolutely should be fired but I fear apathy permeates this entire franchise...from fans to ownership.

Maybe the Pohlad's on down are totally unaware of their fan base. But this is as completely disengaged as the fan base has been since the mid-90's and possibly ever. The value of their asset, which they actually do care about, is being actively damaged by the utter disregard of their customer base.

I have plans to come to 2-3 games in early May. I'm now actively looking for alternate plans. I can't justify spending time or $$ to watch this. I can't imagine casual fans will either.

Definitely not ever. Target field is at least a draw. The 90s twins stunk in a bad park

The attendance this year may be at those mid-90's levels. And they have a much higher payroll and will lose a lot more $$.

The statement was Rocco is on the hot seat; there is nothing in print or anywhere else stating this. TD posters can argue he should be fired until their keyboards break, Falvey makes this decision, not TD.

Falvey hasn't said anything and wouldn't until it was happening. It has been discussed in the local media, not just on here.

That's not a factor. It's not like they will be paying Toby Gardenhire or Tingler millions of dollars to be an interim manager.

fire...yeah, I think that Baldelli has a good deal of support among the local media (Barrerio today said talk of firing him is absolutely crazy) and, most importantly, the Pohlads. But Rocco is on a very hot seat in that the Twins are going to be sold, (possibly soon?) and the new owners will not keep him around...no way. Rocco must certainly be aware of this.

I disagree, Gardenhire isn't making squadoosh managing the Saints. It wouldn't take much to any money to promote everyone up a level as interim managers. Let the kid prove himself. Can't be any worse than what Rocco is doing. Team is for sale. New owners will want there own people. Could always have assistant GM run and dump Falvey too with a mandate to dump all big salary's.  Fan's are not buying many tickets anyways.

That's not a factor.--    you dont think salary matters,   same with rocco playing stiffs like Paddock over younger guys who should play

I can see him getting sacked near the end of the season, but I don't see him getting canned in the first half of the year. I could be wrong.

It's the reason why he still has the job, and yes it's a poor justification but I'm stating what I think is the truth. If it wasn't good enough for Falvey we'd have a different manager.

Judd Zulgad thinks he's gone by May at this point. Falvey will need a fall guy.  I fail to see any good reason to keep him. He's virtually certain not to be the manager in 2026 either way.

I can't stand the hand wringing about having a game where you are forced to lose the DH. This is a complete lack of critical thinking. Oh, no, we lose the DH for one whole at bat! The DH in this case being Mickey Gaspar, who has two whole hits this year makes it even more of non-issue.

Not. A. Big. Deal.
