Birds - 4 for 9 RISP

Twins - 2 for 9 RISP

Correa, Martin (LF defense), Lewis, Pablo, France all looked good today!

Stewart's first appearance, Topa left with an injury

It was pretty windy with balls really carrying in LF, so Martin did really good out there today considering the conditions.

anyone hear anything on Topa? What kind of injury?

Wallner worries me. Hope he can get it going, and soon. He has way too much potential (there’s that word again). At this point, I’m not sure what to say other than maybe leave Wallner behind in St. Paul? But  I like really how Larnach is doing and progressing.

Glad to see Ryan finally getting a start.

Has Jax pitched at all this Spring? I don’t think I’ve seen him yet.

ESPN, so it’ll be about 95% about the Yankees.

Was just going to post that.  Have to look carefully to know who they are playing.

My mom just mutes the TV. She says she can just watch and knows well enough what’s happening without sound.

Funny - just did that before I read your post.  I miss the crack of the bat though.

Let's give it another week or two.

That's the dream scenario for leaving Wallner in the leadoff spot.  Scrappy bottom of the order puts something together and he's the last guy you want to see coming up.

Jeffers seems to be adept at using the challenge system.  Of the games I have watched he has been correct on every challenge I believe.

One comment on the Yankees broadcast was interesting. I’d like to see the data who is more right/more wrong with this system … the pitchers, the batters, the catchers. My bet is the catchers. They do have the best vantage point, imo.

When she sees ‘stuff happening’ she’ll unmute to catch some of the sounds

I know it’s early, and this is what ST is about. But he’s the slugger on the team and started this same way last spring, and finally had to be sent down. If he’s having these same difficulties late in the spring, I don’t want a repeat of last year. There needs to be a sooner pull if he’s just flailing. But glad he finally pulled through … as I also posted above.

They talked about it on a recent Gleeman and the Geek.  In the Twins minors last year the catchers were something like 57%, hitters 50% and pitchers 2 for 7.  They don't even want the pitchers doing it, as evidenced by Coles poor challenge.

I laughed at blaming Cole for the challenge.....ball wasn't even close to being a strike.  LMAO--sad that the Yankees won't be able to get called on getting all the calls during the regular season.

I’m sure more than a few pitchers will be a bit … frustrated? … to not get the calls they used to. That could go against us, too, but glad this time it went against Cole.
