RpR Verified Member Posted February 28, 2025 Posted February 28, 2025 Twins pitchers had 11 Ks but gave up 12 runs. Blyleven2011 1
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted February 28, 2025 Posted February 28, 2025 Not a great game. Twins played several MiL pitchers. Not sure who all the Pirates players were. And then there was the typical bases loaded, one out situation where the Twins scored one run … because the pitcher of the other team hit a batter when bases were loaded, not because anyone got a situational hit. Pretty boring game all in all. But I’ll give it a go again tomorrow. RpR 1
strumdatjag Verified Member Posted February 28, 2025 Posted February 28, 2025 But the Twins Klingon pitcher, Jarrett Whorff, gave up ZERO runs. It’s time to promote to MLB a man with a Klingon sense of honor. Go Whorff. Riverbrian and RpR 2

ashbury Verified Member Posted February 28, 2025 Posted February 28, 2025 When you face 43 batters (if I added correctly*), 11 K isn't really an impressive number. / * edit - upon further review... I did not Danchat and Strombomb 2

If they finish below .500 with you in the crowd, I’m not sure we can allow you to see them live in the regular season ashbury, Riverbrian, RpR and 1 other 2 2

For comparison, the average MLB team got 8 hits per game last season. If our batters got 9 one particular day, I'm not sure that's the stat I would use in a one-sentence summary.. That's all I was really saying; the 11 sounds great until put into the context of an overall lousy game. Riverbrian 1

I could see if we were starting with runs to figure it out, but not when starting with atbats... Also apparently hit by pitches happened too. Anyway, i went and added the individual pitchers' batters faced number from the bottom of the box score and got 47.

I was just trying to confirm Ash's number and I am not afraid to jam things together to make them fit in support of Ash. Now take that 47 add the attendance 4,933... add the average wind speed of 7 and finish by adding the area code of Tombstone Arizona and then turn the calculator upside down and it adds up to.

thelanges5 Verified Member Posted February 28, 2025 Posted February 28, 2025 Twins rank 29th (ChiSox #30) in most of the offensive categories. I know it is only ST but why the slow starts every year? Boring to watch.
