Someone created a poignant video with that forlorn musical theme from Moneyball playing over the last putout. It has been on social media. Have you seen that clip?

I have not. I'll look on YouTube, but do you have a link?

The kid is trying to be honest, and gets savaged for it.

No less than Carlos Correa savages him for it--"being tired is an excuse that's not valid"

The clubhouse must be a fun place to be!

Can you imagine how tired he'd be if he was playing postseason baseball? Good thing the twins are done soon. But it's not his fault, he famously doesn't slump.

I think he likes to talk, which isn’t a bad thing. But that comment and the one I’m about not doing that slump thing are maybe just things you shouldn’t say. He’s young and he’ll learn.

He's less young than he is immature.

Did any of y'all see coverage from the Oakland game on Wednesday? MLB Network had the game and the locals did some nice stuff in the pregame. MLB Network had some nice segments on the A's time in Oakland.

I was a little disappointed that they didn't do more with the '72-'74 dynasty and did more with the Bash Brothers instead.

I didn’t see it…. but no doubt the producers are of an age where “if it didn’t happen in their lifetime “ it doesn’t really matter.

That three year run of the A’s was one of the best!

Steroid fake ball players….. not so much

With a 0.8 WAR, I guess we’ll have to put up with it 😂

This! In order to be a “veteran leader”, you need have experience to become a veteran.

I'm watching their postgame show. Bip Roberts actually began the show in tears as they started to reflect.

Like when he hit the home run in his first postseason at bat last year? 🙂

The core's ready! Add that to that of Miranda, Julien, Martin, Lee, and Kiriloff and we have...0.8 WAR...that can't be right...

Oh dear.

You think HE'D remember that is the point.

17 games over .500 at the high point and we’ll finish 2 games over. Madness

Too tired and apathetic to check…… when they were 17 over, did it include the 11 wins over the White Sox?

Yes, but the White Sox helped the Royals and Detroit just the same as they helped us.

Yes. Last game against them was August 4

Ok, so we are the most mediocre of the three, correct?

Mediocre is that Cleveland lost five times to the White Sox. That's more than the Twins, Royals and Detroit combined. Do they even deserve to be in the playoffs, let alone get a first-round bye, if they lose that many to the worst team in modern baseball history? 😀

Twins get 2 runs in the last inning of each game to avoid a shutout. Nice.

I see Pablo is the Twins choice for the Clemente Award. Good choice. He's had an up and down season but through it all, he has been a good guy. Was it worth trading Arraez for him? Well given the Twins pitching staff, I'd say yes. Would the Twins have liked having a guy in the lineup who never strikes out, blowing rallies? Probably, as he is one day away from his 3rd batting title.

But, overall, I think Pablo can help stabilize the rotation next season. Glad he's a Twin. And hats off to Arraez if he outlasts Ohtani on the last day for the batting title. (some don't care about that anymore, but I do)

O's will be playing Detroit Tuesday. That will be a killer series.

Correa calling out Lewis was sort of strange. What he said was correct. But coming from another player who only effectively played half a season, it was a bit strange. I think Lewis problem is a lot more than just 'running out of gas'.

Embarrassing game. I've never seen worse fielding than Brooks Lee's display tonight or a team which looked more unprofessional.

Side note, 30min early, no hat. There wasn't 1:10 fans with hats despite a real attendance like 20k. 10,000 hats? BS. Absolute BS. I was in Hrbek's 20 minutes before game time. At least 30 people there. ZERO hats. Side note, I probably could have gotten a hat by going to one of the two "extra allocation gates" but I didn't care enough. I just found it to be utter BS the giveaways did not add up.

Yes. All 13 games against the White Sox were between April 22 and Aug 4 which helped propel them to a 55-35 over that span.

The Royals and Tigers are also very mediocre, but the Tigers vibes are so strong and they have a legit ace, so they might be able to make a little bit of noise. We'll find out!

The Royals and Tigers are not serious contenders in the playoffs. Neither were the Twins.

Marlins, Rockies, A’s, Angels, Nats had similar impacts on their divisions. Gotta take care  of the bad teams.
