Twins have been in a funk since Alcala meltdown in Arlington Texas.

Only upside to this is that the 6 seed is a better draw than the 5 seed but won't matter if they don't get it together.

Smoke and mirrors only works for a short period.

The team has no viable option at CF or SS behind Buxton and Correa, MLB pitching has figured out how to get Lewis and Julien out, and the BP (especially Duran and ALL the lefties) is a mess.

The team doesn't execute fundamentals, doesn't advance base runners and most of the guys go station-to-station.

So, to answer a question posed earlier, no Rocco is not the best Twins manager ever.

From a baseball IQ perspective he reminds of G. Celestino.  They just aren't in possession of an innate high baseball awareness.  I don't think it's something they can fix, it just is what it is.

Man the Royals. Just once would I love to see the Twins go into a big series and take care of business like they are. They've done a lot more to earn the division than us.

Wallner gets into a mode at the plate sometimes where he just wildly swings as hard as he physically can it’s so annoying

Yeah, that’s how it should have ended but we had a chance. Wallner is the best chance we had to walk it off given the current roster.

Lost 7 of 9 this Twins team has.  Julienes's bad defense and bullpen making mistakes a common. Denominator on all of it.

Can’t beat good teams. Playoff seed won’t matter. Eeking into the playoffs (and making an early exit)  just reinforces the illusion that ownership’s approach to roster construction is “good enough “.

Had they gotten an even modest outing from Duran Twins might have pulled it off. Pitching will sink this team for sure. Bad loss.

I know it’s a lame thing to say, but if Martin were even a mediocre center fielder, that inning is totally different.  Surely not 4 runs

Agreed, The ball hit his glove. He had minimal awareness where he was on the field and misplayed it.

Probably, facing Sale tomorrow. Doesn't matter that Wallner and Larnach combined went 5-11  with two doubles and 4 RBI tonight, LH batters don't face LHP.

Yep, you can count on predictable Rocco to start Farmer and Margot tomorrow and sit Wallner and Larnach.  Lewis does need a sit day, that i agree with.

Vs Sale I totally agree with all RH. He's extremely tough on LH hitters.
