Not at all expecting him to excel, but you can’t throw that pitcher there with the bases loaded and 2 strikes ahead. Wherever he started the year, he’s here pitching, and the game turned on that pitch. He’ll learn. Just tough time of the season to learn on the job like that

This again… Alcala has been one of the best relievers on the team, he threw 19 pitches and got crushed. 
This isn’t a video game. There was not enough time to get someone warm and replacing him.

The Twins are working without their best a good chunk of the season and 3 rookie pitchers because they have owners who don’t care. The way they’ve played this year is incredible. These players, this coaching staff are incredible. 
With that said, everyone knows this rotation can’t compete in the playoffs

No there wasn’t. It was stated as so. Nobody was warming until the first run was given up. He wasn’t warm until he came in. You don’t waste an arm warming up unless there’s an actual issue.

First, get to the playoffs.  Secondly, they absolutely can compete.  DBacks weren't all that talented in their rotation last season and look where it got them.  Of course, if the opponent is the Yankees, we know what will happen.

Be nice to know ,  that was his 4th best pitch , according to tv guys,   im guessing being a ROOKIE  it was on vasquez, ,   which wouldnt surprise me at all

Still doesn't change the fact that they couldn't take 3 out of 4 against Cleveland after getting the first 2 and pissing away a huge 4 game road sweep yesterday.
