How on earth could the ump believe that Kepler intended to interfere on his swinging strike?

You don't have to intend to interfere. Regardless of intent, you interfered.

It was clear interference had a runner been stealing but it looks odd with a guy just standing there.  No idea why he tried to make that throw.

Agreed that a catcher could do that far more often but that's where the unwritten rules come in.

The rule would need rewritten in the new era.

Agree, except I don't think it needs rewritten. It's a judgement call, always will be, and we just need better judgement by the umpire.

There was interference, just not interference with an actual play.

"Dead ball. Play on."

It looked like Kep’s momentum after the swing took him out of the box and out over the plate…., what if he had stayed in the box and got hit?

Very possibly correct.... but someone should tell the tv guys as they implied otherwise.

Jackson Holliday is back up after an extended period of languishing in the bigs. Lee has had a bit more successful stint than that.

Please let this be true

The impending lefty made Margot necessary, even if the at bat isn't up for a few innings.

Since the ball hit Kepler in the helmet, I hope its not concussion related.   On the interference does it matter how close Lee was second, i.e. if he were standing on second would interference still be called?

White Sox battle back to tie the royals at 3. Then promptly fall behind in the next half inning

Dear god please let us keep their losing streak going.

I’d rather see them win one today and have us sweep them. I know we’re supposed to despise the white Sox, but I wouldn’t want to see anyone lose 20 in a row. Except maybe the Yankees. Brutal for the fans

I hope they win today as well, because 17 in a row is getting so far into statistical anomaly territory that they're bound to win one soon.

Actually it would behoove us to have them break it today.
