This guy is an insane talent and seems to have ice running through his veins in big spots.

If he stays healthy we are looking at an all-time Twins great.

The extention and bat speed this guy has is unreal. Just excited, that's all.

PS the white sox are terrible and play some of the worst defense we have seen in some time.

A little early to be comparing him to Kirby but he does have charisma. FO deserves some credit here as many said taking Royce first was a reach.  I just hope that he can eventually play a premium position like short or center and really utilize his athletic ability.

As far as the position he plays, I'm thinking of Manny Machado. Machado was a SS playing third base, but found a home there. Royce looks like the same thing.

Meh, obviously I am going off of not a ton of playing time, and Kirby was the best IMO to ever wear a Twins uniform, but he is easily the most dynamic player we've seen here since Buxton(when healthy).

PS When he hits a walk off or go ahead HR in the playoffs this year, you are going to change your tune on it instantly. This guy is our DUDE and it's obvious there isn't anyone that has come up from our minor leagues that has looked like this guy has for quite some time. He has literally just hammered the ball both last year and this year the minute he stepped on the field.

Well my tune is that I like Royce a lot. I’m just not ready to say he’s Kirby. We can discuss this again in ten years 😀

And with shifting 3rd is a more athletic position than it used to be. Often they are lined up in the hole and have to cover lots of ground. I’m not happy to predict this but I think he is the Twins cf maybe as early as next year.

I just hope he keeps hitting - I don’t care where he plays - somewhere that promotes good health!!

Puckett is in HOF - Lewis has enough talent, just needs to DO IT for 10 years before we get carried away with All-Time greats.

The talent & enthusiasm is undeniable, no doubt!!

Well, you have the talent factor, and also the charisma factor, so sure he could be the next Kirby, or even the type of player that's even a whole level higher. I can only hope his injury history is a thing of the past and Royce Lewis will thrive in the years to come. As others have said, he's a very special player.

His injury history simply is not looking good. I won't buy into another player who is very similar to Buxton in regards to how often they both were littered with injuries early in their careers.

He simply hasn't shown that he can stay healthy.

It is early to dub him the next Kirby, but he clearly has a similar personality to go with great skill.  If Lewis can grow over same time as Puckett did, we are in for some great things.  They are no where the same type of player/hitter, but I get the post is more about the leader.  Lewis clearly wants to play every day no matter how he feels.  He wants to help the team win, and loves to come up with big hits.  All similar to Puckett.

I hope he can play and be healthy for postseason. He seems to rise to the occasion (great numbers w/ RISP). I’m still not sure he’s the third baseman long-term, but he could be a legit 30-30 guy hitting between #2 and #5.

This kid is not gonna let a hamstring keep him out of the playoffs. He will play no matter what.

This isn't Buxton who comes up with a hangnail or "soreness" and misses 2 months. Any time he has been injured(Royce) it was serious and kept him out. Nagging stuff won't keep him off the field IMO.
