PDX Twin Verified Member Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 Left in the fifth inning. Came back to browse the comments. Going out to lunch was definitely the right decision! And the avocado/cream cheese sandwich on fresh-baked onion bread was great, too!

Chicago and Cleveland were the 2 winnable series. This team will be well under .500 by June 1. You said that before the Yankees, Astros and both Sox were on deck. How'd that go?
jzhu Verified Member Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 Miranda should be sent down when Farmer is up. Wallner should be up when Gordon is released. Solano should be released when Lewis is ready.

But some people seem to be hate-watching this team and prefer it when they fail, I think. I'm an hour behind, but I find it interesting that here in the 8th inning I still haven't seen one comment mentioning how well Ryan pitched after the unfortunate start.
Joel KSD Verified Member Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 So depressing. And, so boring. Yesterday, the Cleveland pitcher had a perfect game going in the 6th inning. Today, we get one hit. Great pitching thrown away by a complete inability to hit. If we take out the KC games, the Twins are 13-15, a .464 winning percentage (I think, math is not my strong suit). Only, Chicago, KC, and Oakland have a winning percentage worse than .464! If it wasn't for the pitching, we'd be competing with Oakland. Last year, is starting to look good! (BTW, look out for Detroit. They're better than we are!)
Dave Borton Verified Member Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 I am a fan of baseball first and the Twins second. What is bothersome is that they don't seem competitive. I can live with a loss but the spunk, the spirit, the energy demonstrated seems to be lacking. I listen to Oakland games at night. They are horrible but the effort is there. That is all I seek when I sit down to listen.

Yeah I don't know, but I hope they do well. There I simply answered the question. You have not answered yet. You answered with a question.
CoastiePilot08 Verified Member Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 2-4 on this trip is embarrassing.

And that has always been the Twin's narrative for having him around. But this year, he can't hardly hit in AAA ball. Do we need a right handed Gallo type that is worse and a liability in the field?

You can cherry pick your stats or record to tell whatever story you want to tell. Twins are 19-16, First in the Al Central, and don’t have to give back wins because of a bad series. Losses are going to happen

You predicted that the twins would be under 500 after that tough stretch and you were wrong. So it follows a legitimate answer would be to state that you were wrong with your prior dire prediction, but instead you evaded. I hope you are wrong again because I want this team to do well.

The word fan is short for fanatic or fanatical. I think there’s a block feature if you don’t like reading negative takes If you blocked the posters who posted exclusively negative takes, there would be nothing to read. There was nothing mentioned about the Twins good pitching effort. Just sayin. I'm usually on DVR and behind the live feed so I can FF commercials. I don't usually participate. If I was live I would've mentioned the pitching, you know mix it up and add something positive.

There is a difference between being critical and being over-the-top negative. If you contribute to the cesspool, you will eventually be cleaned out. I don’t care what your opinions are, and in fact, agree with a lot of them. But how some choose to express them is problematic. We do have a comment policy, but basically, keep on topic and be respectful. That’s it. If you can’t follow those two simple rules, you are free to go elsewhere.
