I find this HIGHLY unlikely.

I have seen/heard of zero 6+ foot 220+ men getting sucker punched by a complete stranger for no reason in my life..... and I've been around for awhile and been in many situations.

Yeah, you aren’t alone. There are several here who want to believe the worst of Balazovic. Likely we will never know the details. I just hope he comes out of this wiser and gets his pitching back on track.

In the discussion above of how a civil society handles disagreement, I’d suggest that a civil society also doesn’t speculate on things when it doesn’t have the information it needs to make clear judgments.

I’m with those who believe that the odds of getting your jaw busted are greater when you’re doing stupid things and/or being in stupid places than if you aren’t, but I’m not sure how it benefits us to do much more than report what is known.

Back in 2020. A story about Ellen DeGeneres being mean came across my news feed. I accidentally clicked on it. The social media algorithm immediately shoved 20 more stories about Ellen DeGeneres being mean at me. There was no other conclusion to draw. Ellen is mean. 

I want to be clear... I have never met Ellen.

It pretty much sealed my decision to get off social media (including Twinsdaily) for I don't know 18 months. 

I hope that Balazovic is able to hang zeroes. 

I will not judge other transgressions.

I agree...it's a pretty flakey story. There had to be some people who witnessed what actually happened. At some point the Police report may shed some light on the whole thing. Until then, it's probably best to forget about it.

Or, he could have truly just been in the wrong place at the wrong time. That happens, too, probably just as often, but we’re only human and have tendencies to focus on the more salacious. Let’s just hope he heals, gets back to it, and has a really great year

That's not always the case.....a college buddy of mine who I played baseball with (he's 6'3" about 225) was sitting at a bar (I was two seats away).....a girl asked him if he would buy her a drink (she was wasted) and he declined.  He didn't do anything but say "no thanks".  Next thing you know, he got sucker punched by her (i'm assuming) boyfriend.  Broke his orbital bone.  The guy was tiny.  He took off too.  Eventually, he was found and convicted of substantial battery.  I'm just saying.....it happens.
