Probably the Baker, Blackburn, Bonser, Garza & Slowey group when Santana was young. They had Radke, Silva, Lohse then too. weitz41 and wabene 2
jorgenswest Verified Member Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 I just hope the current Griffin Jax continues to be the 2022 Griffin Jax. Relievers appear volatile because of the nature of their sample size. We may have simply seen his 80th or 90th percentile results last year. I would need to see another year before seeking the next Griffin Jax, TwinsDr2021 1

Probably Henriquez also, but he's so young, so maybe not yet. I agree, get Sands and Henriquez in the pen at AAA as soon as possible and let's see what they've got. Ober definitely stays in the rotation, we will need him sooner than later. I'm torn on Winder, I'd keep him as a starter for now. LA Vikes Fan and wabene 2
Major League Ready Verified Member Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 St. Paul is going to have one hell of a team this year. Cris E, wabene and Mike Sixel 3
JD-TWINS Verified Member Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 Sands has no real benefit as a starter - give him a shot at getting 3 outs at a time. Gotta keep Ober & Winder stretched out & ready at least through May. By then we’ll have a feel for the front five guys health & effectiveness. Maybe can target Winder as a long guy with big club and keep SWR & Varland working as starters in St Paul & ready for SHOW when needed. Balazovic is a guy that struggled last year with good stuff…….he could jump past Jax & be the next Duran. I think we give him until 4th of July to get right as a starter or start grooming him - trying him as a power reliever!
Fatbat Verified Member Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 I wonder if Dobnak is gonna get a shot at working the 7th inning to get 3 ground ball outs….
Linus Verified Member Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 Shouldn’t we be looking for the next Duran? TwinsDr2021 1
Twins33 Verified Member Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 I’d say Henriquez and Sands should absolutely be moved to RP. I’m torn on Winder, but it would probably be for the best. Ober needs to remain a SP.

I like Jax and think he will be a good relief pitcher, but I am hoping for a relief core that is all better than Jax last year.
