Per LEN 3 in the Strib:

"Byron Buxton is sitting out today after DHing on Thursday. It's a planned day off as Buxton recovers from a knee injury.

Gary Sanchez is a late scratch. He was to start at catcher and hit seventh. Miguel Sano was ninth as the DH, but will move to seventh with Ryan Jeffers catching and hitting ninth. Leadoff man Luis Arraez is playing first base."

Thank you and hence there is a reason for Celestino to continue on the squad until Buxton is a full go. Yes, he'll get days off in the future, but I'm pretty sure the Twins aren't 100% sure about Buxton's health.

I get it that pitchers' duels are good baseball in theory. The point of view that good pitching will control good hitting is widely accepted as being true. But I'd still rather see our offense score 6 runs a game.

Or at least 6 runs a week.

I think we got an imposter bizarro Carlos Correa. He missed two hanging sliders in that AB and is now hitting a spicy .188

An offense that scores once a game on a daily basis kinda erodes the appeal of a pitchers dual.

Announcers just said thats 17  Strikeouts for Correa aand 5 double plays,   Hot Start !!!!:banghead:

Ha!  That's impressively unimpressive.

Correa strikeout, Polanco strikeout, Kepler strikeout.

Just unwatchable. These guys are terrible right now. Why Buxton's on the bench is beyond me, unless he asked out he should be in there.

Who’s the last “big name” trade/signing that really worked out for the twins? I don’t mean someone we took a chance on, I mean an all star type that we signed and actually delivered? Orlando Cabrera? He was a gold gloved we didn’t sign until July.  Carl Pavano? Shannon Stewart? Luis Castillo?

I predict a run and they have their worst inning yet. Nice

kepler not swinging again at pitches lefties usually love

Not just lefties, Kepler in particular loves that pitch. He hit 3 HRs off Trevor Bauer on that exact same pitch a couple years ago.

Ervin Santana?

Brandon Kintzler gave the Twins a couple big years. I guess he was more of a surprise than a highly touted guy.

Thome and Cruz were both aging veterans, thought by many to be diminished (they weren't). Jack Morris was a bit younger (35), but also thought to be on the downside of his career. Frankly, I can't think of a free agent who was at his peak and signed away from another team.
