And where did that get the organization? More play off losses and crapping the bad where it matters most? At what point are MN sports fans going to stop being OK with mediocrity and stop doing things when they are not getting us to the goal? Whats that goal? Championships. Thats it, anything less is not good enough. Just being happy there is baseball is fine for 10 year old me, its not okay with almost 30 year old me, I expect results. If you are happy with how the team has been managed under Rocco, and think they are managing the team properly and that these are the results you want to see, fine, thats on you. I expect more. Also comparing the average persons day to day job to that of a professional athlete on a professional team making millions is not comparable. At all. Pay me $10 Million and I will travel with Kim Jon and Hitlers ghost around North Korea for 200 days a year.

It got Nelson Cruz to the best seasons of his career as a 40 year old. Do you think they're making everyone on the team take naps or something? When a player comes to them with a request for something that will help them perform better I want the organization to be willing to provide that to the player. Why would anyone want anything other than that? They changed the batter's eye at Target Field because the team complained the trees weren't ideal for hitting, should we be pissed about that, too? Or which things are we supposed to be mad about the team doing to help their players perform?

Who says anyone is "Ok with mediocrity?" You're the one calling out nap rooms as if they're some grand org plan that they're making everyone use. I don't think Rocco is a great manager, but he's not the reason they have an 18 game playoff losing streak, sorry. I get that it's frustrating to be a fan of this team sometimes, but at least be mad about the right things. I wasn't suggesting they have a "tough" job, I'm speaking to the general human condition of performing better, at anything, when you're happy doing it and in a good mood. You're expecting them to be robots because they're professional athletes and that means they somehow shouldn't be affected by things like happiness and comfort. Again, I get it that they're a frustrating organization, but at least be mad about the right things. Your North Korea analogy is awful. They aren't paid $10 Million to travel around with each other, they're paid $10 Million to perform on the baseball field. You being able to be in the same room as someone isn't the same as you being able to perform your best in a precision sport day after day after day. Try again on the analogies cuz that was a complete miss.

What are your grand fixes to bring championships? No naps. Not caring who gets along with who. Not having Rocco because he accepts players napping and tries to make them happy and comfortable at the park. Any other grand wisdom for Falvey? I'll pass it along so he can fix things.

So the cavalry consists of a SS who might take half a decade to become as good as the current guy, a 3B who might be as good as the current guy, or might not, and a guy who along with Arraez will give us two no power no glove  guys.  Trying to be positive here but struggling to do so.

Yep, couldn’t agree more. Outside of this team turning things around, the goal is to hope multiple players start to show more so that we can maximise trade deadline value. You correctly identified the right names. Some of those will be DFA’d if they can’t be moved.

However, as this team transitions to a much younger squad, you’ve missed one important piece that also needs to change. That’s Rocco and his staff.  This team is going to need a head coach and position coaches who can develop young players to reach their potential. Rocco has not shown that with any young player yet. Fellow TDers please name one.  The sooner we bring in that type of coaching leadership, the more upside this franchise can have. Forget Kepler and Sano - their regression may be to difficult to turn around. Think Kiriloff, Larnach and Jeffers on the current team - those three still have potential and are begging for development. We need them to be solid major leaguers.

Yes, leave them in the Minors where they can maybe show they will not screw up the Major league season.

Terry Ryan went with Paul Molitor over Doug Mientkiewicz in 2014.

And from what I can tell, Doug hasn't been in baseball since he got fired from the Mud Hens in 2019.

True, but wasn't Dougie also mentioned as a replacement for Molitor, who Falvey canned supposedly because he couldn't relate to young players and Dougie had great success with the Twins A team that had Polanco, Sano and a couple other young future Twins on it, all of whom voiced support for Dougie?

I don't recall that, but that doesn't mean it wasn't the case.  But more importantly, from what I can tell, Dougie hasn't been in baseball since getting fired from Toledo in 2019.  So I don't think that I'd consider him the answer either if that's your argument.

I would never miss a Twins game when Garlick bats cleanup. Brings back fond memories of Harmon, Hank, and the Babe!

And Frosty Malts?

My Doctor asked me the other day if I had been laying off the pasta like she recommended.  I looked up at her and said "I'm trying Doc".

It has been awhile since my last appointment so it was a little surprising to run into her at the Olive Garden like that.

Martin isn't a shortstop but he is definitely not "no glove."  He'll be average or better at 2B or in the OF.

I don't really believe that you're trying to be positive with this comment.

He was cleaning up post hurricane in his neighborhood in Florida when he was fired (not a good look by this FO) shortly after the 2017. Rocco was hired after the 2018 season. Your recollection might be more to do with supporting a man who was in a bad spot at the time, not an endorsement for Mientkewics to replace a sitting manager in Paul Molitor who just won manager of the year.

Doug Mientkewics has nothing to do with Rocco Baldelli, and nothing to with the current situation.

Hitler's ghost is in North Korea? ??

Some of these opinions are beyond being comprehensible  and defeat the very reason why baseball or team sports are played.  A team of human robots isn’t fun to play with or to watch.  If you don’t like the Twins and the moves they made since the lockout, then,  maybe you should consider becoming a fan of another team.
