Final Exhibition Game

Just noticed my DirecTV has the Red Sox/Twins game on NESN. I checked in the game in time to see Buck and C4 go yard. Both teams going with mostly starters. Winder on the mound for the Twins. Kirilloff in left, so I guess he’s good to go for the regular season.

Urshela also went deep. I really liked Winder. Composed, with nice mix of pitches.

Right now the Twins are doing what they had not done this spring but did a lot of last year; take big lead and get blown out by the end of the game. ?

Who are the players, now,  whose names are new since start of Spring Training, A level players just getting a shot at big show pitching?

Jax got lit up: 0.2 innings, 3 H, 2 BB, and 6 ER.

On the other hand, Winder, Coulombe and Duran combined for 5 IP, 2 H, 1 BB, 1 ER and 6Ks.

My prediction is Jax isn't long for the roster....but at least they FINALLY moved him to relief.

The fact that we are done with the last spring training game and they still haven't decided between Rooker and Garlick is a bad sign.  Neither looked good this spring, at least statistically, and neither did anything today, either.  To me, it seems like they clearly want Rooker, but they're having trouble convincing themselves.

The goal is for there to be no exhibition games in September.

They canceled tomorrow's exhibition between the orioles and twins "due to a lack of available pitching". 16 pitchers apparently not enough. Should be a fun season.

Jake Marisnick anyone? He would come at the cost of a 40-man slot, but IMHO he’s clearly superior to Rooker/Garlick.

Yeah it's the Fort Myers players. the other minor league teams have broken camp and headed out to wherever they start the season.

Poor command and a bit of bad luck. I’m not ready to buy into “Jax will play up in the bullpen”. We’ll see.
