This is a pretty pathetic lineup. With Buxton, Kepler and Sano out, we have 2 journeymen 5th or 6th OFs in LF and RF, a converted SS/2B in CF, a SS whose OPS is the lowest in MLB for a starting player, and the fun to watch clown at 1B. Add in a starting pitcher who should be in AAA or perhaps AA and you have the perfect recipe for getting blown out by the second inning.  I feel for the Yankees fans who paid full price for this.

I realize this is off-topic, but Ryan had a very encouraging 1st inning in St Paul. Just something positive to think about while you watch Barnes getting his head blown off out there.

Sitting Sano against a lefty, well ok, the turtle is a much better hitter anyway

That’s funny stuff.

Yankee stadium's right field is a joke.  Big league roster, big league, rules,............little league park.  Give their hitters credit, their batting practice probably loks more like serving tennis, than hitting baseballs.  Teams like Minnesota are too stubborn or unable to 'play' the park and swing away.

Is anyone awake?  come on, let's have some discussion, or whatever.  Let's not have stiffs online and on the field.

It really is amazing how bad the FO has set this team up for pitching. To march guys out there like we are now, is so very depressing.

The worst part: the guys the Twins are marching out there aren't even top prospects! They're basically "organizational depth" type guys who don't have a future in this league.

Barnes? Likely will never see The Show again after this season.

Jax? Maybe at best a Smelzer-type pitcher who could be a spot starter on the St. Paul Shuttle.

Ober? An Aaron Slegers clone who might find his way into a #5 spot for a half season because there's nobody else.

God forbid we get Jordy Blaze, Joe Ryan, Drew Strotman, Simeon Woods-Richardson up here - they are actually supposed to be good. And honestly I don't want to hear the "they're not ready" BS. How much worse could they be than Barnes????

It's amazing that in today's game a team can get away with that stadium design.

Pretty difficult to excuse the front office running out an OF of Refsnyder, Gordon and Cave.

Sorry, but if they're not interested in fielding something more major league than that, I'm not interested in watching.

OUr selection process and 'selectors' need to really examine themselves.

Other teams are able to select players, who are either ready or who can be taught to play at the MLB level.   Years ago the Twins had a scout, Angelo Guiliani (sic) who could do a decent job of judging talent.  Now the scouts are looking for 'athletes"  who can they hope to transform into baseball players.

I've been committed to never gamble money... but man, the idea of putting money on the Yankees every time they play the Twins seems like free money, even when statistically it shouldn't be.

Haven't watched them since June. Why is this team is playing washed up free-agent-to-be retreads and "organizational depth" guys when they're 20 games out of 1st place in late August?

You need to start laying some money down so the Twins can start winning.

I used to play pool and helped out with some of the 'newbies' to the league.  Some players are great shot makers.  Others knew how to stroke and play shape (position).  Some could do both, but shot makers who couldn't play shape were not consistent winners.  Look for the overall good player versus the spectacular shot make.  Note: Willie Mosconi played boring pool, so to speak.  He always played shape and therefore never had to resort to extraordinary shots.

No money to be made, except by happenstance.  Terrible odds.
