twinssporto Verified Member Posted July 9, 2021 Posted July 9, 2021 Good Evening Twins Fans!! Sorry this posted late! Big game tonight against the Tigers. Hopefully the Twins can pull off another win. Maeda is on the mound so I think we could be in good shape. Let's see what happens...Twins need to pick this up another notch but you never know what bullpen, offense or starting pitching will show up. Tough year I know! Weird seeing Sano hit in the number 8 hole...I guess that's where his slash lines are now. Kinda sad. Larnach is starting to roll though! Go Twins!!! Let's get started with tonights lineups: TWINS 1. Luis Arreaz, 2B 2. Josh Donaldson, 3B 3. T. Larnach, LF 4. Nelson Cruz, DH 5. Alex Kirilloff, RF 6. Jorge Polanco, SS 7. Max Kepler, CF 8. Miguel Sano, 1B 9. Ben Rotvedt, C P - Kenta Maeda TIGERS 1. Akil Baddo, CF 2. J. Schoop, 2B 3. R. Grossman, LF 4. M. Cabrera, 1B 5. J. Candelario, 3B 6. Eric Haase, DH 7. Nomar Mazara, RF 8. Zach Short, SS 9. Jake Rogers, C P - Matt Manning, R

twinssporto Verified Member Posted July 9, 2021 Author Posted July 9, 2021 My pick-to-click tonight is Larnach. Bet on it!

My intestines are grateful. Worst beer I ever had was Bubs. Came out of South Dakota. Had the consistency of heavy oil and tasted like spoiled dog pee. But it was only $2.99 a case back in my college days and you only had to be 18 to buy it. Very popular with desperate Minnesota college kids who could afford to make the drive across the border. Caused more students to miss class than the Tennessee Quickstep.
bighat Verified Member Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 Friday night, nothing else going on, think I'll tune and see how long I can stand it tonight.

Where do I find a case? I'd like to avoid it!

My first dive into “local craft beer” was in 2012 when Mankato Brewery started introducing limited kegs at select bars in town. The first IPA they had was horrid. But clearly they’ve figured it out, because they’re still operating today and distributing beer throughout the state!

Drink some Bubs beer from South Dakota and I bet you can make it through 3 innings. Wsnydes swears by it!

bighat Verified Member Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 Perfect opportunity to use Gordon tonight, unfortunate Rocco can't find a spot for him. By the looks of Larnach's AB, he could use a night off. Or two.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 I also remember early 2013 Surly IPAs being extremely bitter and hoppy. We’re in a golden age of beer today!

bighat Verified Member Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 Jake Cave starting a rehab assignment? Wow he's certainly been a guy who's been forgotten - what do the Twins do with him? I see no space at all for Cave on this team.

I hope Larnach and Kirilloff remain with the team and play through the ups and downs.

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 I’m sure it’s been said before, but it’s absolutely incredible to hear someone who pitched in the 60s sound so sharp and lucid. Kaat is an absolute gem

Bub's was made in Winona (later by Walters Brewing in Eau Claire). It wasn't horrible.

See, I don’t have stories like this because I went to high school in San Diego. All we did was walk over to Tijuana where clubs would literally serve you as much alcohol as you wanted for… six dollars. Six dollars.
luckylager Verified Member Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 Jim Kaat is a national treasure. We're so lucky to still be able to listen to him call a game.

But that's because I weighed 120 pounds soaking wet and had no tolerance.
