puckett_34 Verified Member Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 Jeffers OPS is only 11 pts below Sano’s at this moment. Let that sink in for a moment.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 And speaking of casks... okay, it was actually just me posting a picture of them... As a Gen X'er, I gotta ask the Boomers... were cartoons back then all sponsored by distilleries? Half the reruns from the late 50's/early 60's featured a St Bernard either getting loaded himself or mixing martinis for stranded skiers.

mikelink45 Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 One key question - what Twin would you put on the all star team? My only thought is Berrios. No one else is close.

LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 The nice things about a middle reliever coming in for Happ right now are that you probably won't have to worry about surrendering a lead, and by comparison your stuff will look like vintage unhittable Tyler Clippard.
Danchat Verified Member Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 Who the heck is going to trade for Happ at the deadline? With pitching on the rise in 2021, Happ is quite far below replacement level.
AceWrigley Verified Member Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 Woohoo. You could fry an egg on Donaldson.
RickOShea Verified Member Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 The Twins bullpen just tightened their bung - ees after that Donaldson HR. Who's gonna give up the lead?
LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 "Donaldson with a drive! Taylor going back! Taylor at the wall! And it's... slightly increased value at the trade deadline!!!"
AceWrigley Verified Member Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 Wow, a catcher that prevents wild pitches, what a concept.
Aerodeliria Verified Member Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 Man, now we can't get a box of Cracker Jack for Happ at the deadline. He's suddenly worse than Shoemaker. The 4-5 punch in rotation is very, very frightening me. Galileo. Magnifico.

Twins catchers probably still a little shaky back there knowing their teammate took friendly fire and had to have his junk stitched back together.

AceWrigley Verified Member Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 Now, will he Hansel them the lead?
insagt1 Verified Member Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 Donaldson finally earning his paycheck tonite. Where has all of that been for the first 2 months? Too bad Happ is pitching like a word that rhymes.
Danchat Verified Member Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 Robles getting his usual lead-off walk out of his system, I see. These new strategies Wes is coming up with are sure strange!
mikelink45 Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 Nice job Hansel - Santana loves the walk. 24 innings, 16 walks! Clutch performance.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 Dick Bremmer: Just go ahead and throw the first pitch to the backstop. No Dick, that is stupid. Instead, pick a corner at random, and nail that corner with a fastball for strike one. The Royals are not hitting just any old first pitch, they are hitting uncompetitive first pitches.
