ashbury Verified Member Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 Naptime, gotta sleep off this 2nd moderna shot. Godspeed.I may have to sleep off my second jose cuervo shot just now.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 Good first basemen save their fellow infielders from a lot of errors. But still, I think the official scorer is supposed to look at who made the initial misplay, and not at what another defender could have done to pull the fat from the fire. Official fielding stats are way insufficient to the task, and better analytics still are far from complete. And they will trace the runner at 3rd back to the initial error as well. Fair enough.

MNT1996 Verified Member Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 Maybe all Cave needed was a little left-handed OF competition in Kirilloff to light a fire under his butt

cHawk Community Moderator Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 Arraez.... bases loaded..... o-ver-ray-ted How is he overrated?
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 How is he overrated? You're right. Even an imaginary .400 hitter fails 60% of the time.(and I don't even remember that routine throw from 3rd now...)
cHawk Community Moderator Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 You're right. Even an imaginary .400 hitter fails 60% of the time. Exactly
mnfireman Verified Member Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 Its not how often you fail, its when you fail. This team cannot hit with runners in scoring position.
cHawk Community Moderator Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 Its not how often you fail, its when you fail. This team cannot hit with runners in scoring position. That's a problem that fixes itself.

ashbury Verified Member Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 Buxton would have had that one. / and did
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 It is just hard to take when the bottom of the lineup scores one run, loads the bases, turns the lineup.... and the supposed .400 hitter pops a lazy fly and inning/rally/threat over.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 Ha ha, our pitcher made your batter say a bad word.
MMMordabito Verified Member Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 C'mon guys, like what Smalley said earlier -- This one's on the offense.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 Alright, Alex. Time for the potential and talk to turn into performance. How about a hit? update: one pitch and out.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 Buxton would have had that one. / and didI was tempted to say that when he hit a shallow foul pop up the Pirates couldn't track down last night. That woulda been something.

h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 Just leave him in there and see how many runs they can score in the inning..... why not. It saves the pen.
