He waited one batter too long, and it cost him an additional baserunner, but Smeltzer bailed him out.

Then he unnecessarily left Smeltzer face a bunch of righties in the following inning, and Cave did NOT bail him out. Rocco’s impossible to figure out when it comes to the bullpen.
