Cruz has had a lot of at bats lately where he just doesn't seem to be seeing the ball well. I'm not in love with the big out to in shift of his front foot as pitch is thrown. Anyone else feel it's a bit exaggerated?

The last few games, teams have gotten smart with sliders that break off the outside edge or fastballs that just skim the outside edge.  Not sure why anyone would ever throw him, Sano, or Bux a fastball ever.  But you're right, he seems to be a tick slow.  That 95 over the heart in the first inning would have been in the HR Porch most other times.  I also think the inability to go back and look at previous at-bats in the clubhouse (thanks, Houston) is hindering him.

Good to see Berrios not implode there. His command still is nowhere near "there" yet, but a lesser pitcher could have completely lost it that inning. Nothing went his way.

If Kepler's hitting the IL, it's time to bring up one of the OF prospects.

They did it with Garver/Jeffers.

Probably depends on the degree of the strain with Marwin on the roster already and Cave heating up. If it's over 2 weeks projected, I could see them give Rooker or Kiriloff a shot though.

If he does go on the IL, I would be surprised if they don't bring up one of the rookie OFers. Neither Marwin or Cave should play every day.

Tomorrow is a rest day, no?

Might be an extra day before we find out what they decide to do.

The way Abreu circled around under that pop, I thought there was no way he'd corral it.

Tough catch, running away from home plate. One your average rec softlball league player doesn't make.

What about a little leaguer?

I only watch a few non-Twins games a week, but combining that small sample size with Twins games...Strike Zone Umpiring is horrible. I've been done with home plate umpires since 2014 when i saw first hand how strike zone could be managed. I realize strike zone cuts both ways, but it shouldn't happen either way. Just do it.

I was literally saying “He won’t get that”

I must admit, my age might be starting to catch up with me. I had just been feeling...not strong. So I went to my doc, and he put me on an exercise program.

He told me to begin with a five-pound potato bag in each hand. Extend your arms straight out from your sides, he said, and hold them there for a full minute, and then relax.

So I did.

After a few weeks, I felt like I could do this exercise pretty easily, so I called me doc and he told me to move up to ten-pound potato bags. Then try 50-pound potato bags, and eventually try to get to where you can lift a 100-pound potato bag in each hand and hold your arms straight for more than a full minute.

Well, it took me several months, but I'm at the point now where I can hold the 100-pound potato bags with relative ease, so now I'm thinking about adding a potato to each bag.
