mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Let the kid start the 6th ?? its obvious Rocco thinks of Dobnak as more than just a opener , 2 h.b.p. and 2 walks only Blemishes, with Kyle we would still be in the 2nd or 3rd inning
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Hey - been awhile since I posted - but have been wondering who did Squirrel used to be? I missed the name change, or did the real Rally Squirrel recently joined the forum and has simply had the time to post over 24,000 times in a few weeks? And if it is the real Rally Squirrel - is it true you are trying to sabotage TC Bear so you can be the primary woodland mascot for the Twins? I heard you might have spiked his honey with something that made him act inappropriately at some fan event and is now taking sensitivity classes. I am starting to think the early part of the season might not have been a fluke.Seriously? You don't know who Squirrel is? We used to live in the same neighborhood years ago ... Sebastian Joe's on Hennepin and Franklin ... still like stopping there for a scoop of their raspberry choc chip ice cream ... but the eatery that was in a garage ... I think it's long gone
tvagle Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Alright, boys. I'm out to get my bluegrass on! Keep the vibes rollin'! Let's get this W!Do we need to hold a FlauerPauer Bake Sale? Must be tough wearing Blue grass

I am starting to think the early part of the season might not have been a fluke.I think the former user name is of little consequence. He or she was just biding his or her time until choosing the appropriate time to run on the field and reveal that he or she was the new rally animal.
jz7233 Provisional Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Give me Schoop over Perez any day of the week. What has Schoop done lately for Twins? Perez can be an opener at least.
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 No reason not to run Dobnak out for the 6th.It looks like they are bringing Smeltzner in, and I'm fine with that.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 LaMarre and Schoop should not be on post season roster. Wade, Cron, Gonzalez, Castro, Adrianza, Kepler, Polanco, Cruz, Garver, Sano, Rosario, Arraez, Cave, Berrios, Odorizzi, Dobnak, Rogers, Duffey, Littell, Romo, May, Graterol, Smeltzer, Thorpe and Perez (Thorpe, Perez and Smeltzer should be in the bullpen).I recall hearing talk that Adrianza was likely done for the year.
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 What has Schoop done lately for Twins? Perez can be an opener at least. Schoop is statistically an above average hitting 2b that can hit LHP. Perez contributes nothing. Using him as an opener is asking to be down 4-0. There are 15 guys I'd rather have opening than Perez from your list (and yes, I know you listed just twelve pitchers).

VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Soler-Dozier-Gordon coming up. I say Dobnak should be done for the evening--he did his duty.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Dobnak is looking cooked
BD57 Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Geez ... did Eddie have a shot at that ball?
tvagle Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Dobnak is looking cookedBetter get him out before he gets smoked
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Attaboy Dobby!
bighat Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Nice job, Randy Dobnak! Let's go D. Smelz, clean it up and keep the Royals off the board.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Braves clinch. They clinched a postseason berth several days ago.

I think it's long gone I did like living there - walking distance from Liquor Lyle's and Leaning Tower. Title Wave became a Hollywood Video and is now fine dining. Actually there were three video stores within a block and a half -- times change.
bighat Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Geez ... did Eddie have a shot at that ball? Didn't look like it to me. It was just a classic bloop hit - Soler's a power hitter and everyone was playing deep. Buxton at full speed might have caught it on a dive, but it really didn't appear to be a catchable ball for most OF.

tvagle Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Larry VanOver must be related to Flavine...2 pitches to Hoskins were non-called strikes leading to a walk Tieing run at the plate Oh wait isn't this the Cleveland GT? Update...no runs
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Liquor Lyles ... who all here has been to Liquor Lyle's??? <raises hand>

There are 15 guys I'd rather have opening than Perez from your list (and yes, I know you listed just twelve pitchers).I only care about results not stats. Schoop does not drive any runners in. He is not needed. A waste of roster spot. I care less about Perez, Stashak can take his roster spot. Wade, Cron, Gonzalez, Castro, Adrianza, Cave, Arraez, Polanco, Garver, Kepler, Cruz, Sano, Rosario, Berrios, Odorizzi, Dobnak, Smeltzer, Rogers, Duffey, Littell, Romo, May, Graterol, Stashak, Thorpe. If Adrianza can not make it, Astudillo can make the roster instead.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Hold it, Twins! Cmon Cody!

VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 If you're going to take out Dobnak if the first batter gets on base, why wouldn't you just bring in a fresh pitcher to start the inning?
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Looks like Dobnak will have to wait until his next turn to get win #1.

Title Wave became a Hollywood Video and is now fine dining. Actually there were three video stores within a block and a half -- times change. I have lots of connections to that area as well. Grew up on Irving Ave near Uptown in the late 70's all the way through the 80's. Went to Jefferson Elementary - not far from Liquor Lyle's, right across from what used to be an Ember's and a Burger King right there on Hennipen. I remember when Calhoun Square was built, it was supposed to be the next big thing...maybe now it's finally cool? Spent much of my youth riding my bike down to Lyndale & Lake to go to the "Grand Slam" baseball card store. Speaking of Franklin Ave, a great family friend of ours is the founder/owner of the Electric Fetus!
