Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 What in the wide wide world of sports is a goin on here!!!Unfortunately, this might answer your question.... http://i.imgur.com/cr9ipBN.gif

Blake Verified Member Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 I guess going down 1,2,3,4 is a step in the right direction.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 This is going to come off as a totally whining post considering the timing of it, but I want to take an informal poll to see what posters are thinking. As constructed right now, it doesn’t appear the team would have good odds to win the pennant. Would you still want to see the club make the playoffs if they were to end up losing the first round (or wild card game at this point)? Understanding that this franchise has not won a playoff series since 2002 nor a game since 2004, even considering their recent lean years, I’m not all that interested in seeing another one and done. But then again it would be a total embarrassment to set the all time single season record for home runs and not even qualify for the postseason. I’m torn.
FLTwinsGuy Verified Member Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 Good lord i am so sick of Kyle Gibson
LaBombo Verified Member Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 You know it's not your night when you hear "Cabrera digs for second" and he ends up not even needing to slide...
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 Collars a bit tight ya think ??

So, even if one series and out, the team gains invaluable experience.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 File that double under: “a good throw gets him”
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 You know it's not your night when you hear "Cabrera digs for second" and he ends up not even needing to slide... Bad play by play... Everyone knows that Miggy "plows" for second.
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 Cabrera comes out and jumps on the first pitch for a double. Bottom of the previous inning, Garver looked at strike 1 right down the middle. We need to mix things up a little.
Blake Verified Member Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 You know it's not your night when you hear "Cabrera digs for second" and he ends up not even needing to slide...Yeesh, that's right up there with, "Jim Thome digs for second."

MNT1996 Verified Member Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 Holy cow that RISP statistic for the series Tigers 7-26 RISPTwins 0-6 RISP That's pathetic
jz7233 Provisional Member Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 All leadoff hitters reached base in all the innings Gibson pitched. Pathetic.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 I'd rather have them get swept in the first round than miss the playoffs.Swept? Sheesh, I just left it up to a won/loss scenario. A sweep would be an absolute no from me. Seen it each of the last three times they’ve gone (4 if you count the wild card)
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 I have some sympathy for that POV. The umpires take it upon themselves to try to encourage fair play. That's probably somewhere in the rules, worded indirectly. But the strike zone is also in the rules, and defined pretty specifically in regard to the knees and so forth. This ump is just blind, you see the one he called on Sano

mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 Well at least we wont see no more of ryan harper for awhile as cabera steals third
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 I pegged the team as below .500, in the pre-season poll, so I think I have to abstain.Ha, overruled. Gotta answer

I would point to KC World Series win as an example of a team that learned from prior playoff experience, though.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 Dude, Miguel Cabrera stealing third is the baseball equivalent of doing an onside kick when leading by 5 touchdowns
Kyle DeBarge Wichita Wind Surge - AA 2B/CF On Sunday, DeBarge went 3-for-3 with a walk and a double. It was his second multi-hit game in his past three games. Explore Kyle DeBarge News >
