You mean like Schoop's two-run homer just the other day?

Or like all the missed opportunities we've had tonight? Just saying.

No, I think he meant like Polanco's bases clearing triple yesterday to break a 3-3 tie.

oooh ... riiiiight ... forgot about that one. Not sure how since we have so few of them.

No, but play a team 18 teams over the course of 6 months and you usually can look at the record and get an accurate assessment of how the teams played each other. Much harder to judge when you play two series against an opponent, then you surely can catch a team at a bad or good time.

The Twins started playing the Indians June 4th.

Don't you think it would have been helpful if we got the Indians for 6 or 9 games in April and May?

Timing matters... the ball bounces the wrong way sometimes and sometimes the right way.

Were the Giants just hot during the hot streak or did they face a collection of teams that were cold.

It's baseball. It's a moving target.

5. Big loss to kill our momentum is likely.

Dude ... game isn't over yet. Rain on the parade after we've gone home.

Great thing about baseball is there is a game tomorrow (on most days)

Not tomorrow.

It's a night game.

76 wins, I think there have been a few clutch hits in there

In my mind, emphasis on the word "few". Compared to the other teams in both leagues, I'd be shocked of our batting average with RISP was not below the average MLB mark, and maybe even quite a bit below.

Well ... we're not going to get every single clutch hit possible or we'd have zero in the loss column. Just pointing out that it's not that we never get clutch hits, because we do.

To quote somebody, you could look it up.

See my just posted comment.

I don't want to look it up, but I assume there's some kind of official ranking out there, because there is for everything these days ... is there an actual ranking showing that the Twins are less clutch?

But since they have a winning record, wouldn't that imply that they don't need as much clutchness?

But I get it ... it'd be nice to get runners home when they are in scoring position and it sucks when they don't.

Still doesn't necessarily mean they are less clutch. Unless there is some kind of graph that shows this.

Yeah, I don't want to do the research.

White Sox appear to have a good back end to their bullpen. They aren’t far from being a good team all around. Could be competitive next year.

HUGE game tomorrow. Giolito pitches Game Three. Although we did hit him last time out and Odorizzi is a decent pitcher. I get the feeling we can beat just about any starter in the league, (except Nova). Nevertheless, I feel tomorrow is a really big game.

Isn't that still tomorrow? lol

Chief, were you a DTFC poster back in the day?

I don't even know what DTFC stands for.

Plus, I'm not old enough to have been a poster at the Dickie Thon Fan Club.

I like their bullpen a whole lot. It's solid. But their lineup is quite a few years away, in my opinion. I don't think Bremer's wish to see a competitive White Sox club is in the near future.

It was a Twins forum back in the 2000's. I may have the acronym wrong, but could have sworn there was a USAFChief on that forum.

It'll be interesting to see what the Twins' plans are with Thorpe going forward. Seems like he could be a successful long relief guy for them

Again, all I’m saying is the 3 bad teams in the division have proven to be awful throughout the year. The twins have done fairly well against them (would be 22-10 after tonight), but it’s always disappointing to lose to any of those three, especially at home. Also considering the team behind us has gone 20-3 against the bad teams since June. There’s a little “take care of business” vibe to games like this, which goes back to chief’s post

It’s possible you are overestimating the import of tomorrow’s game.

I posted a link for the actual stats in reply earlier.  :)

This time I'll do Runners in Scoring Position with two outs.

Strength of lineups can change quickly. Witness the 2019 Twins.

As much as I really like Gibson as a human being, I will be very happy when he signs elsewhere this offseason, (hopefully). I'm not exactly sure what it is about his pitching all these years, normally I would be happy with a pitcher that has an era in the 4s. Maybe it's because I believed and still believe that he was better than what his career has turned out to be.
