Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Inconsistent is the word you should be searching for. Now take a look around the league and find the consistent bullpen. We desperately need upgrades... the front office has to know this but we have posters threatening the front office with bodily harm. I'm absolutely ashamed. I don’t think anyone is actually going to physically harm anyone. But not having made any moves up to this point is essentially criminal IMO

And yes, every single team seems to have problems with their bullpen.
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 9 runs given up by the bullpen in the last 3 innings. 9!!!!

RB, I'm pretty confident that was hyperbole, and far from the worst that's ever been on a game thread. I'm pretty confident I can find worse from both of us.
TribeAZ13 Provisional Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Yankee fans are always mad about something. yankee fans are always angry but whats worse is their entitlement...any free agent or trade deadline, its like" hmm what will Bauer bring to the rotation, or when the Yankees sign Kepler in 2020, etc etc" . they are all deluded a holes
Pius Jefferson Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Sorry but not interesting in hearing about what a 'great' game this was. The team blew a six run lead, got saved by Sano and than blew a 9th inning lead. Would have been better losing 12-2.
Blake Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 8-2 was the score at one point.Against a lot of teams, that's a safe lead. Yankees, no way.
tvagle Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Gibbler the Nibbler part of the issue as wellHanded a big lead and left in too long Good one out of 162 (never a great game when you lose) on to Cincinnati
DiscGolfer Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 that was a great game, the outcome sucked but that was one for the ages.Twins can take these yankees. I don't even know how you analyse a game like that, could've gone either way
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Hicks made a great catch. He misses that, Twins at the very least tie the game. Wow.Thanks for the description. I had been living on "lines out sharply" which could be routine, or dramatic dive. And i am glad it came to a play in the field.
jud6312 Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 I didn't like Aaron Hicks while he was here, and I like him even less now.
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 I'm absolutely ashamed. I'd be ashamed to collect a paycheck if I was responsible for setting up a pitcher roster destined for failure against one of the best teams in baseball. The Twins FO/Ownership (and everyone on TD) has known the bullpen needed more help since last December.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Harper. 31 inherited runners. 17 scored. including the 2 tonight. How you let him pitch to Gregorious is beyond me. Just walk him already. But they keep sending him out there with runners on base, and even in scoring position. That is insanity.

h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 welp, im glad we didnt lose ground bc both our teams gave games away, but even unbiased, just an incredibly entertaining show just now Too soon. **** the Indians. Time to go home.

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 What moves? They missed on Kimbrel but nobody has been traded yet.Why do we care what others have or haven't done? Why is that any kind of excuse?
TribeAZ13 Provisional Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Kirby Yates is available..if the twins really wana make a pennant run, gotta pay up plain n simple... he is dominant and unhittable and a game changer....U can afford to lose a bat or a prospect, but this team must shore up the pitching

Time to go home.Ill assume u said 'love' the indians... im not trolling in the least.. i love baseball. and yea, we both choked tonight... but do not say eff the indians..really??? have i ever remotely said anything like that? negative

There're LOTS of reasons he hasn't pitched in the majors until he hit the age of 30.
DiscGolfer Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 To say this FO should've made a move by now isn't necessarily fair. Too many variables with other teams happening and too many unknowns. Twins aren't the only team looking for pitching and no other team has made a move yet either. Wait for the first domino to fall then see what happens. I hope the Twins push the first domino.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Didn't someone doubt this thread would go past 47 pages at one point?Lol, that was me.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 What moves? They missed on Kimbrel but nobody has been traded yet.DOING SOMETHING, ANYTHING when you know what you have (or don’t have in this case) is an upgrade. Our best reliever now looks to have hit a wall, presumably because of overuse. Taking a gamble on Cody Allen doesn’t even qualify doing something IMO. This is a team that could win a pennant and we keep running out the same slop every night. Inexcusable.

The Twins have the Marlins coming up, and they would likely make a bad deal to save money and deal the Twins at least 2 better pitchers than are currently on the roster.
