BTW, it’s not all gloom and doom. This is a good baseball team. The negativism last night was pretty extreme for a club with a five-game lead. Some perspective is called for.

Delayed start based on how the radar looked a half hour ago. Looks now like the rain is fading away, and Dick just said the anticipated start time is 12:45 Central time.

The team hasn’t been blown out much lately. Just close losses. Once all cylinders are firing within the offense again, this team will be right back at the top!

I think pretty much everyone is in a slump since the start of June except Luis Arraez.

Vargas is the pitcher that hitters need to see as many pitches as possible from. He gives up walks and he does not have overpowering stuff. Polanco and Cruz only saw 3 pitches from him and handed him 2 outs.

Vargas probably can throw 150 pitches with his slow velocity stuff. He throws plenty of meatballs.

I think it’s time for Perez to be removed from the rotation. Give Smeltzer or Thorpe a shot until someone can be brought in.

Perez is incredibly lucky pitcher this year. Move him from the rotation is a good idea.

Pérez has been pretty good his last 3-4 starts and has had his share of bad luck/bad defense behind him of late.

 

If he’s not continually pitching from behind or walking people, he’s much better than average.
