HawksNest Verified Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Brutal night so far. it happens. would have liked to see some more clutch hitting in what is the biggest game/series of the year so far, but what can you do?
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 RBI are the single most important stat in determining wins and losses. I dont care what the nerds say.
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 We’ll be in second place by August At this rate it's looking like end of July is a possibility
akmanak Verified Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 More errors. I am sure the manager will tell his crew to just skip the next practice and take it easy.
Darius Verified Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 I know that’s a good at bat by Garver there against a tough pitcher....but come on, that was down Broadway. Whatever the opposite of clutch is, we were that the last two half-innings at the plate.
NorthwestTwinsFan Provisional Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 This home plate ump is really, really bad.

Blake Verified Member Posted July 13, 2019 Author Posted July 13, 2019 Seriously, this ump gives away strikes that are outside to Cleveland calls a ball that's clearly in the zone a a ball
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 We’ll be in second place by AugustWe could, but it wouldn't be very hard to take first place back... the way people talk about it, it seems like once the Indians catch us, it's over. Yes, it would be massively disappointing, but it's not like the season would be over.
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Good teams find opportunities to win games. Bad teams find opportunities to lose them. Right now, this is a bad team.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Y'know, with May and Littell improving lately, it suddenly seems like the Twins don't need relievers as badly as we thought they do. So... is it time to start wondering if we need to trade for hitting? It's just a thought. I still want them to get a Smith/Giles and a starter.
obtusebanter Verified Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Still got nine outs to make. Plenty of chances to do some damage.

yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Wow. I’d like to know the catch probability on that one. 20%?
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Not sure why he was rushing. Wheels Sano?

So... is it time to start wondering if we need to trade for hitting? Eh, I don't think so. I want pitchers, but I'm starting to get concerned we're going to go out there and get Cashner, Ian Kennedy, and then say "we tried".
bighat Verified Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Yet another threat! Is this 3 innings in a row we've had at least 2 guys on base with less than 2 outs?
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Baldelli showing confidence in Buxton. Will it be rewarded?
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Got a good swing. Just missed it.
Darius Verified Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Really good AB for Buxton there I thought. Left a couple of balls outside then drove one to the opposite field (just got underneath it s hair). Shows he maturing as a hitter.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 RBI are the single most important stat in determining wins and losses. I dont care what the nerds say. They've never said otherwise. Not even close.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 He was safe. If New York screws this pooch...
NorthwestTwinsFan Provisional Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Looks like he was safe, but I don't know if there's a good enough angle to overturn it.
bighat Verified Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 He was safe but not sure the video evidence or Rob Manfred's desire for a good race and TV ratings is going to allow it to be overturned.
NorthwestTwinsFan Provisional Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Looks like he was safe, but I don't know if there's a good enough angle to overturn it.Nevermind, that last angle was perfect.
bighat Verified Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Yeah!Buxton's fly ball getting Sano to 3rd turns out to be a very productive out indeed.
