bighat Verified Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 meaningless, Gibson’s pace is the problem His pace is terrible. Perez is almost as bad. Cleveland's got Kluber coming back in August and Danny Salazar will be back even earlier. Pair those two with Clevenger, Bieber and Bauer and this could be the most dominant staff in the AL.
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Last year's deadline was the time to do it, but according to many here, the Twins needed Gibson so that we could compete in 2019. I was also against a Gibson trade... it's hard for us to trade guys away when their stock is high. If only they would have moved Gibson but kept Pressly...I Couldn't agree more! We should've traded him after that gem against the Red Sox last year! It sucks that Pressly's been so good too and we could really use his help! Hopefully those prospects will pan out that we got for him and Escobar! \m/
bighat Verified Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 If that Sano double goes 5 more feet we'd be feeling a lot different about things. Funny how sports work, eh?
Blake Verified Member Posted July 13, 2019 Author Posted July 13, 2019 Okay, so far, I've suggested sending Sano down only to have his bat get better. I also suggested Schoop get a few days off and his bat got better. Gibson needs to be trade for a PTBNL. Or a bag of balls. A used baseball?
Danchat Verified Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Guys, Buxton looks bad today, but if Sano can rebound from his 1 for 23 with 15 Ks or whatever that streak was, I think Buxton can rebound too. Adrianza and Kepler are just as guilty at failing at a RISP situation.
Blake Verified Member Posted July 13, 2019 Author Posted July 13, 2019 Scratch May for the rest of the series. He can scratch his own rash, thank you very much!
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Scratch May for the rest of the series.Only 25 pitches. He should be good Sunday.
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 I'll be glad once Gibson is finally off this team. Sure he gives us an occasional good start, but it seems like he has 2 bad starts and 1 mediocre start for every good one.
Darius Verified Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 What an inning from May. Great job of settling things down. Get a long ball here and we’re back in business (only to cycle back to panic later).

IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 When choosing between 89 games vs. 1 inning, I’ll go with the larger sample size.

bighat Verified Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Rocco needs to sit down Buck. This guy can't hit. He is ****ing bad. He had 4 hits and 4 RBI in the series before the break. He's had a couple bad ABs tonight no doubt. Sure we all get nervous when we see him strike out a couple times but let's just wait and see what he does the rest of the series before we freak out.

He is probably the most overhyped player in ML history.Buxton had a .816 OPS in the first half and is the game's best fielding CF. BBref has him at 2.8 WAR, and he's played in 73 games. Byron has been a great player so far this season, period. Are 2 strikeouts in a game all it takes to lose faith in this guy, and that'll he'll suddenly revert to the player he used to be?
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Wow. Not even close to a strike.

Han Joelo Verified Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 So I'm taking advantage of the free weekend of baseball on MLB.TV. Now, I've heard Jack before, but right now, I'm getting a real Jeff Bridges vibe. Keep in mind, I just watched the Dude in a couple of movies this week as a fill in for baseball. In the one, Bad Times At the El Royale (that's close) he plays the part of an old bank robber disguised as a priest. In the other one, Hell or High Water he plays an almost retired Texas Ranger on the hunt after a couple of bank robbing brothers in West Texas. He is amazing in both films. What does this have to do with baseball, other than he could do a good job of portraying Jack Morris in a Twins biopic? I don't know. Neither of those movies end happily, per se. But in both films, his character kind of comes out on top. In the latter, he gets his man, sniping him off a hill from like a half mile away. In the former, he digs deep and then proceeds to kick the crap out of Chris Hemsworth's character, and eventually gets the money, and the girl--sort of. So, I don't predict a sweep either way in this series.
