Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 Just wanted to start a quick forum thread to encourage people to post their predictions for the 2018 Minnesota Vikings season. Here are some of my predictions: Record: 11-5, 1st in the NFC North.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 Expectations are sky high for this team. So since we expect so much that probably means we're losing 10 games this year The defense is legit, maybe the best in the league. QB play should be an upgrade, and Cook is back to lead the rushing attack. OL continues to be the biggest concern. Depth is paper thin all throughout the line. I think they'll finish 10-6 and miss out on the division crown thanks to Aaron Rodgers coming back.
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 11-5, deep playoff run
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 I think this defense has a chance to be the best we've seen since the 2000 Ravens.I also think that Keenum's success was all Thielen and Diggs. In fact, I think they functioned in spite of Keenum.I think these weapons, with a legit QB, could be explosive. Yes, the Oline concerns me, but barring multiple injuries, I think it can be overcome by the defense and offensive weapons. I'm not normally the high man on the Vikings, but I'm predicting 15-1, with Cousins winning MVP.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 I....I just can't. Nope can't put a prediction down on record. It would feel like I'm tempting fate and begging for heartache.
caninatl04 Verified Member Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 10-6 and it will go to the fifth or eighth tie-breaker to determine whether they win the conference versus the Packers who will also finish 10-6. They will lose to the Eagles, Patriots, Rams, Detroit, Green Bay all on the road plus one game at home when they went in favored by 6 points. Their starting O-line week 16 will include 2 starters who are currently on some team’s practice squad. The defense will give up exactly 256 points. The Vikings will win the first playoff game by a very boring low score (17-10) and lose the second to the Rams in a shoot out (41- 27). However, the Vikings will play in the Super Bowl following the 2019 season when they have a much more favorable road schedule. Finally, I predict that zero of the above predictions will be even close.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 ten or eleven wins, playoffs, and then who knows? Lots of great NFC teams this year, lots. ATL, NO, LA, MN, GB, Philly
SF Twins Fan Verified Member Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 After looking at the schedule I'm guessing 12-4 with losses @ GB week 2, @ LA week 4, @ NE week 13 and @ Detroit week 16. This defense is legit and got even better with the additions of Iloka, Hughes and Richardson. Offense will be better with the addition of Cousins and having Cook back as well.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 99% I am at week two, they better get lucky and win!
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 ten or eleven wins, playoffs, and then who knows? Lots of great NFC teams this year, lots. ATL, NO, LA, MN, GB, Philly SF, the Giants, Bears, and the Panthers are no slouches either. They aren't in the tier of teams you listed, but any of them could make a case for being the third or fourth best team in the AFC.
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 12-4.Two seed. Excise their superbowl demons. Either that or a disappointing 7-9 finish with the Packers winning it all.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 0-16 If you're a Vikings fan and not dead inside from all the heart break, you haven't been a fan long enough.

rv78 Verified Member Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 Yes, the Twins are soooooo bad that even the website devoted to the team has to talk about one of the other sports teams in Minnesota.
gil4 Verified Member Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 0-16 Keep making predictions like that and it might not be just on the inside. :shoot:
gil4 Verified Member Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 Yes, the Twins are soooooo bad that even the website devoted to the team has to talk about one of the other sports teams in Minnesota. It could be worse - we could be talking about the Wild or T-Wolves.
weitz41 Verified Member Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 12-4...Who ever has the best division record between the packer and the vikes wins the division and looses to them in the NFC champ game...So says my magic 8 ball!
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 Yes, the Twins are soooooo bad that even the website devoted to the team has to talk about one of the other sports teams in Minnesota.Nonsense. Twins Daily had a lively Vikings forum area in 1987 and 1991, too. / What's that you say? The Internet didn't exist then? Well, the discussion must have been on ARPANET or one a them other contraptions. I was there, I tell ya. I seen things. I SEEN things, man.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 Yes, the Twins are soooooo bad that even the website devoted to the team has to talk about one of the other sports teams in Minnesota.Or other teams, or tv shows.... This part of the site has always been here. I like movies too.

TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 You've got two losses to NO there....
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 You've got two losses to NO there.... He LIKES New Orleans. http://politicalhat.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/blazing-saddles-rape.jpg
Badsmerf Verified Member Posted September 9, 2018 Posted September 9, 2018 Late to the party, but I think 11-5 to 13-3. 1st to third seed in NFC... Heartbreaking loss in NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME.
SF Twins Fan Verified Member Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 Good start yesterday for the Vikes. Defense had some mistakes they will need to correct and the offensive line needs to play better but overall I'm happy with the way the team played. Hopefully Pat Elflien comes back soon and maybe they can move Jones to LG to take over for Compton. Tough game this week going to GB but hopefully Rodgers is still gimpy. The Vikes pass rush is much better than the Bears so they should be able to make him feel more uncomfortable and make him move around more than he would want to on that leg.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 I'll be in Lambeau for the game, in my purple with my Packer friend. Not confident.....
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 I'll be in Lambeau for the game, in my purple with my Packer friend. Not confident..... I also could not confidently say that any Packer fans are my friends.
